Its supposed to have a effective range of 3 to 4 thousand meters, the Bushmaster is an excellent weapon, and it can fire Sabot or uranium depleted rounds. But issues with corrupt manufacturers replacing the armor on the T-90 with substandard materials. Poor manufacturing and poorly trained operators this was akin to murder.
Clearly there was no scouting in place or overwatch for a Bradley to get into knife fighting range.
If anything this war has really exposed that a lot of the modern Russian weapons systems were more sales brochures then well manufactured deadly systems.
The T-14 is nowhere to be found, the T-90 has been an utter failure and we're seeing a reliance on older T-72's. In the air their Su-27's 30's and 35's have not performed well, and forget about seeing the Felon operating in Ukraine air space. With India walking away from the program and the Russians desperate for a export market they can't risk the Felon being exposed as far inferior to other 5th generation aircraft.

Ukraine drones hit St. Petersburg gas terminal
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-68046347
Quote:
An explosion at a major gas export terminal near the city of St Petersburg in Russia was carried out by Ukrainian drones, BBC News has been told.
The blast caused a large fire at the Ust-Luga terminal, but no injuries, Russian officials said.
An official source in Kyiv said the "special operation" of the SBU security service masterminded the attack, with drones that worked "on target".
Both Russia and Ukraine have used drones in the current conflict.
Russia launched its full-scale of invasion of Ukraine nearly two years ago, but has made little progress in recent months.
Regarding the explosion near St Petersburg, regional governor Alexander Drozdenko said a "high alert regime" was in place after the incident at the terminal of gas producer Novatek, in Ust-Luga on the Gulf of Finland. He shared a video of what appeared to be a large fire.
Novatek later announced that work at the terminal had been suspended, and said the fire was the result of "external influence" - without providing further details.
The Ukrainians say fuel processed at the plant was being used to supply Russian troops in their war against Ukraine and that this strike "significantly complicates" logistics for the military.
They also describe the attack as an economic blow to Russia, which exports fuel from the terminal.
Russia's Fontanka.ru has published video showing tankers moored close to where the fire is raging. It reports two drones were spotted approaching the city of St Petersburg at about 01:00 local time (22:00 GMT) but swerved sharply at the outskirts before heading for the coast and the Ust-Luga port.
An eyewitness is heard saying the ground shook beneath his feet with the explosions.

This thread should never go to the 2nd page, it seems the world's attention is elsewhere these days and with the US unable to provide new weapons or aid due to Republican interference (wtf is wrong with that party?), Ukraine is in a major bind right now. Russians have a few confirmed advances albeit small, advancing on Krokhmalne in the Luhansk-Kupiansk region. It looks like Ukraine simply ran out of ammunition and artillery to counter advances and eventually had to cede some territory.
I fear that Ukrainian stockpiles are running dangerously low, and we are likely to see reports of more and more territory being ceded.
Russia really only has to outlast the world's resolve in a war of attrition, and right now it's waning. Efforts need to be stepped up and Ukraine's war not forgotten or put on the 2nd page.

in peripheral news, Turkey's parliament has just officially approved Sweden's membership into NATO, so at least there is some good news.

Kharkiv is getting absolutely ravaged by russian terrorist attacks over the past few days. Learned today that the building that has the wedding agency my wife and I used to get married was destroyed. The building is very clearly in a highly populated civilian area. Russians spewing whatever orc nonsense to justify it.
Beyond pathetic how the western world is more than happy to drizzle in support and they are banking on the (false) hope that the russians will go away by themselves one day and we can all live in peace and quiet again. The world is in for a rude awakening in the upcoming months/years with this conflict at the center. Then we can all wonder out-loud why we didn't do more to stop the russians sooner.

Russia is weakened at the moment in terms of supplies, competent troops, and leadership. This is the time in which Ukraine needs the most help.
Waiting on our laurels is going to be a grave, grave mistake for when Russia re-arms or figures that annexation of Ukrainian territory opens up options for the Caucasus, Poland, the Baltics, and even Scandinavia. Even the Norwegian prime minister sad that now is the time to build defenses for a potential conflict with Russia 5-8 years down the line.
Russia will just continue to fight a war of attrition. They will wait, keep sending people to the meat grinder, and count on Ukraine not being able to last as long as they do.
Without proper support, history will show that this was the moment which could have won the Russian/Ukrainian war in the West's favor.

I am hopeful that Ukrainian Air Power will have significantly increased come the spring.
Air Power can win you land, you need infantry to keep it, but it can win it for you.

Yup definitely eagerly awaiting those jets when the time comes.
Also, anyone know what happened to the big order of GLSDB Ukraine was supposed to get? Last I checked it got pushed back a few months into this year. Would be nice to see those in action fairly soon.

One of the most disgusting things I read lately is that some of the Ukrainian boys that were kidnapped and brought into Russia have now turned 18 and are being conscripted into the Russian army for deployment in Ukraine. I can't even imagine how awful that is for them and their families.
That has to be a war crime, right?

Add it to the massive list of things Russia has done in this war that are probably war crimes that will almost certainly go unpunished because they have a lot of nuclear weapons.
The world will not be safe until not only Putin is dead but the entire system is burned to the ground and rebuilt like Germany after WWII.

Unfriendly reminder that this is what russia brings to the world; razes down a city then settles their own people in it, taking what belongs to others as their own. This is a video of a walkthrough of a stolen/destroyed apartment in Mariupol. Straight up human trash in this video.
