The fact that Makar now holds that record and will (probably in the next couple games) become the highest scoring defenceman of all time for the Colorado Avalanche… at 25 years old is completely insane to me.

Does MacKinnon seriously have 81 points already, or is TSN way off? That seems like a lot.

He has 5 tonight including 4 goals. I thought he should have won the Hart trophy the year Taylor Hall did. He should easily take it this year.

It's actually crazy. I thought Kucherov was on fire this year, Nate is getting silly now. Unreal player.

It has been an excellent third period.
Toropchenko scored 41 seconds after the Canucks scored to make it 3-1. Suter scored a bit later on the power play to make it 3-2.

Big power play coming up for the Canucks.

I think this is the week that did in our playoff hopes.

Three losses to TOR, EDM and STL while SEA and STL keep piling up points.

The Sabres turned it on in the second period and scored a pair of goals in two minutes.
Quinn with a goal and an assist, 3-3 now heading into the third period.

Foligno/Kurashev/Raddysh is legitimately Chicago's top line. There is literally no one better than that to put up there.

The only bonefide top six/top four player on the whole team is Seth Jones. Wild.

Heading in to overtime you meant to say. And Blues win it in OT.

Bourque and Blake were only there for a couple years each, and I can't really think of any other D the Avs have had that are in that echelon.

He's going up against the dude that went to Leafs (or to the Oilers and then Leafs?) and guys like DeVries and Michael-Liles. Even going back to the Nords, we're talking about guys like Marios and Moller. Actually, I think they had Duchene at one point... but like maybe 2-3 years?

Outside of Makar, Bourque and Blake, the biggest name D they had was Adam Foote (edit: best name was always Mario Marios though).

Sounds like Zadorov got benched tonight in the 3rd. Ended up with only 12 minutes tonight and 17 shifts, lowest amongst all defencemen.
