Make Hughes happy and he pushes Petterson to sign. The overpay will be worth it.
How’s old Zadorov doing? Playing like a #5 or he going to be replacing Myers on his next contract?

Canuck fans were celebrating about how they fleeced Conroy and the Flames, and are now tripping over themselves to continue this narrative saying he's made Myers better and is providing a missing element from the Canucks D.

I stopped hating the Canucks after they purged the organization of guys like Burrows, Kesler, etc. and replaced them with good dudes but the fans seem to be the same the second they have success... pretty sus...

Not sure I've seen anyone say that Conroy got fleeced, but I also don't use twitter.
I've seen fans of other teams refer to it as a "very good deal for Vancouver" and then go on to lament that their team didn't make the deal first.

The only GM that made a mistake in the Zadorov deal was Treliving for asking for retention on both him and Tanev and will subsequently be missing out on both.

Zadorov himself has been good. Stabilized the D after Soucy got hurt. Skates good. Hits good. Makes some mistakes. He can play up the line up in a pinch. I would not pay him what he is asking.

Where'd all this Markstrom to the Leafs come from? It's been all over my feeds.

I saw a few of these fan site "Team Nation" type articals suggesting that the Devils had made McLoud available. Now he's worthless...

I think I've seen all these guys pop up as potentially available all year. Now they'll be hoping to be the ringer on a berr league team after the KHL let's them claim a couple Roubles.

From the sounds of it, some of these players who have now asked for a leave of absence have been on their team's respective trading block for some time. Other team's won't touch them because this cloud has been hanging over their careers and their current teams don't want them, and rightfully so.

We know the NHL's own internal investigation has been underway, and I would not be shocked if it was done and just awaiting any sort of legal case coming to fruition (that we are now seeing) before being released. I would also not be shocked if the results were known internally in the NHL which is how we've gotten to this point.

Does kylington coming back change the narrative on re-signing Hanifin/Tanev?

If he looks good before the trade deadline, I definitely think it makes moving on from tanev and hanifin alot easier.

I'd be rather surprised by that. The NHL isn't really known for being leakproof. If that many people knew the details, I'm sure it would be public knowledge by now.

I'd be weary of relying on Kylington to stabilize the void that Tanev and Hanifin made if they were traded I love Shilly to bits but to me right now it's a very precarious come back.

If they do move the two D men, they will have to spend some assets or use part of the return to snag some D men as well.

Keep in mind Kylington is also a pending UFA.

Reverse actually. Noodles was trying to pour water on the idea. Saying they're not a goalie away from being a true contender and that the Leafs D has so many holes in it nothing can save them.

Literally going into the other market trying to drive down price. They do that #### all the time with players the Leafs are targeting.

"Oh they don't really need them"
"It isn't a good fit"
"The player isn't what they're looking for"

Still remember when they were circling Miller two years ago, three or four radio hits from TSN guys on local radio and Donnie and Dhali talking about how of they make that move they shouldn't be giving up a lot for that kind of player.

If they offered the deal that Shanahan vetoed for Fleury I would hope Marky waives.

The deal was proposed in 2022, it was Hagel and Fleury for Mrazek, Knies, and multiple 1st round picks, John Shannon reported it. So today it would be Markstrom and Coleman out for Samsonov, Knies, and multiple 1st rnd picks the way I figure it.

I don't believe Shannon for a second. Knies even then was pretty highly thought of, but the multiple firsts seems like a pure stretch. Nobody offers that type of deal in modern day for a goaltender, even if you're going all in.

Well maybe you would believe Dubas who came out and said he was upset the details of the deal were leaked?
