The AP article that is being picked up by espn and others isn't shy about tying the names to the charges.
https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/...ssault-inquiry
Quote:
"The NHL has been very clear that teams should refer all investigation-related questions to them. In the meantime, members of the organization, including Flyers players, will not be commenting any further."
|
Also that quote gives a little insight into why the Flames aren't saying anything at this point.
This part seems a little eyebrow raising.
Quote:
We have been in contact with the London police, continue to want to be in contact with them, make sure that there's visibility with respect to what our process is," Daly said June 3. "And to the extent we can understand what theirs is, that would be the goal. And then I can't prejudge what happens from there."

Are you referring to events in the hotel room?
Not the place to be making jokes.
Or are you cryptically leaking information you have heard relating to a crime that took place? That would be an extremely bad idea.
These aren't trade rumors.

Average Joe would've had their name thrown all over the media already. These boys are being protected due to status. Disgusting.

Well reading between the lines it appears the Flames have been aware since he stepped away. Not sure the extent of their knowledge prior to that. I doubt anything was shared/confirmed to the club by DD's party until they were given notice to surrender.

Yes but this is isn't a isolated incident.
Nicholson was part of the hierarchy that established the funds to fight these cases or pay hush money to keep them quiet.
It's not surprising he is working for Edmonton as they continue to be the wasteland for human trash.

maybe, maybe not. Depends on the police department. They could say suspect X is a person of interest in the case but like most of the team would have been a person of interest at some point.
Because of the nature of this case, they're not going to name them until formally charged which is pretty standard practice. If they accused are named at all.
We have issues here of EPS not naming officers who are charged with a crime.

Could be that, but there's also an official transaction per CapFriendly as Dube was re-designated as "non-roster". I'm sure that transaction comes with rules regarding websites and such. Now, what does that transaction mean? I have no idea. Tyler Bertuzzi was also re-designated as non-roster on the same day and as far as I can tell, that's because he's taking time off as his wife is about to have a baby.

If Average Joe was involved, the media wouldn't even be interested in reporting his name until he was actually charged, and you wouldn't be clamouring for the information to be released ahead of time.
Nobody is being protected here.

Don't mind the names being withheld this long if it means they get it right and convict those responsible. Important to be very thorough before reaching that point anyways. But obviously the London police could've conducted their investigation in a much shorter time window.

I guess the only good thing about dragging this case out so long is that these dbag players would have made some decent money to pay the victim.

I know you're joking, but if they saved the money they've earned to date, it would be very easy for them. I know of people who are on the lam for other reasons and all you need to do is go to a country without an extradition agreement with Canada (like Vietnam, I believe, for example) and live out your life in that country forever. Very easy. As long as you can resist traveling outside of that country, ever.

I simply stated that he likes pizza. Anything else you connect to it is an assumption on your part.

Eh don’t bother they’ll just say “all I said was he liked pizza” or something. Maybe a meaningless comment, maybe a joke, maybe an attempt to say something. No clue
Edit: lol never mind. Couldn’t have timed that better if I tried
