Visionaries was the first thing I thought of too - that cartoon was cool!

The other toys I can think of were COPS - they had a cartoon, and the toys all had cap guns or someway in which the toy would utilize the caps.

Real Ghostbusters toys were cool too!

And finally, GoBots - they tried to take on Transformers...

I am pretty sure GoBots were around first. At least in North America.

I had some giant shogun warriors. Anyone else remember or have these too? I had the middle 3 on the picture below. These things were huge! About 2 feet tall I think.

Pretty sure they are still hiding in my parents storage somewhere too.

Yeah the fists shot off of two of the ones I had. One had missiles that shot from the legs, the other had missiles that shot from the chest. (kinda looks like nipples when loaded)

I also had that rocket hockey game. Thanks for finding the picture, I had forgotten about that one. Man it was loud.

Edit X2- got a buddy to host it for me.

I guess it wasn't obscure.

And I recognize those round things too, but can't remember ever hearing the name of them.

M.U.S.C.L.E. Men were pretty cool. I can remember having a bucket full of these choke hazards.

Electric football!

I vaguely recall some comedy skit (SNL?) where this pro football coach lost his job because he designed his plays based on this game. "OK, Billy, you go around in circles in the backfield. Tank, you just head straight out of bounds and fall over. Joe, you just stand in place and keep vibrating."

This guy might actually be late '70s vintage, but either way he didn't last too long.

There was a Simpsons episode where Homer was coaching Bart's football team and drew up the game plan that way. It wouldn't surprise me if someone did the same joke before that.

Jiri, this game?

That was fun

I loved that game! (And I'm a girl, btw) I think my parents may still have that game in the basement... I might have to go looking for it next time I'm home... I remember a lot of these toys you guys are talking about - having older brothers was great - I got to play with their toys AND I got girlie stuff too - toy jackpot!

Yeah, The 6 Million Dollar man was my fave, but alas I once have a couple of pictures of it. Loved the Bionic Eye though.

Other than that it was the Micronauts!!

Wow is it ever a long time since I heard that name. I used to have some awesome audio story tapes for Sectaures that I listened to all the time as well. I loved those tapes.

Macross: I was never able to get one of these even though I thought they were the coolest toys ever.
Macross isn't obscure and Battlebeasts were part of the Japanese transformers line. You lose on two counts at attempts to be obscure

Edit- Also
