If the Flames are getting a prospect back in a deal with the Canucks, I could see LHD Pettersson as a good fit. Right age, has size, good wheels, and fills a positional need. Doesn’t have a high ceiling, so I’d expect VAN’s 1st round pick to be included in the deal as well.

As an aside as we talked about it earlier: Soucy actually expected to be out close to 2 months, so he will be going on to LTIR.

I could see Dallas as a team that surprises everyone and steps up to pay the price. They are loaded with prospects and are having an underrated season. They have been in their competitive window for a few years now so they might want to make a move to give themselves a better chance against Colorado (who they likely play in the first round). Also, they have a need for a player like Lindholm.

Detroit could also use him and are in a playoff spot again - but Yzerman is a patient GM so I don’t know if he’s willing to pay for a rental player at this point. Detroit would not be considered a real contender yet.

The Canucks "pro" prospects stink.
The Canucks 1st round pick is currently 32nd.
The Canucks would require either retention or a salary dump coming back.

I fail to see how they are "hard in" on Lindholm. Other teams can offer far, far more enticing packages.

Not defending Monahammer, but what have you posted that has been accurate in any way? I can't think of anything. A lot of conjecture that is widely available through a number of blogs or X accounts. I've yet to see you or the other self-proclaimed insider break anything that wasn't already out there or was just common sense. You would think that the Zadarov thing would have been the litmus test and nothing came from you or the other "insider" so I'm not sure why you think your posts are any more relevant or valuable than the next persons? I will give you credit on one thing. You don't try and promote your schtick using cryptic nonsensical gifs or memes. That's just uber lame.

Also, I'm curious if any of the insiders sometimes read the CP rumors thread for Flames news and end up posting the rumors from here just to get clicks. I enjoy the rumors, but there is only one poster on here who I have no doubts about as an insider.

If I'm not mistaken, Dissentower said that the Flames aren't even going to approach Markstrom about releasing the NMC unless something great comes in.

Brzustewicz would be an absolute steal if we could get him. He was already a steal for them, going in the 3rd round last year, and he’s completely exploded in the OHL this season with 69 points in 45 games, as a D-man. He’s got all the tools, other than size (he’s 6’0”, so not really a concern).
