Certainly explains away his performance this year so far. i hope he takes the time he needs, gets the help he needs, and finds himself again. Good on him for taking this step.

Better that he takes the time to sort this out than the team trading him for peanuts like some wanted. Good to see the team supporting this and hope he gets the help he needs.

The guy is an absolute puddle when he hits the town. Glad he's going try and clean up his act.

It seems to me that the first step after recognizing you need help is asking for it, which can be very difficult for many of us. I'm glad he's been able to get to that point and there is support for him.
Please don't be afraid to ask for help; there's no shame in it.

I really believe this is the positive side effect of understanding and acceptance of a mental health issue . Having someone close that has gone/is going through these things empowers oneself to get help.

Get better Dubes ,can't wait to see your success at the other end of this .

Glad to hear he's reaching out for help. It's okay not to be okay and hopefully he can get the treatment he needs to get his mental health back in order.

Gotta be honest, feel this is playing a big role. It's been an issue that's been hanging over the players associated with that team heads for the past several years, and that will take it's toll.

I suspect Kylington will be there for Dube with words of support.

Hope he gets better but if it's related to Team Canada items - then I do not wish him well.

Good for him for reaching out for help. It's not always easy for a young professional athlete to come forth and admit you have a problem. I hope he gets the help he needs and comes back healthy.

Hopefully, he recovers quickly(and more importantly fully), and the stress of a new contract doesn't affect him as much.

The hopeful side of me thinks that he's going to come back as a better player out of this. He's already a great teammate and a good person.

Probably more likely mental health is effecting his play vs his play is causing his mental health issues.
But anything is possible.

This is unfortunate. Apparently well-liked by his teammates. He's the guy that takes in the younger players like Coronato.

All the best to Dube. He’s a good guy and obviously loves the team/city. Hope he’s able to get to a better place mentally

Thats a little unfair to say at this point. He was the Captain of the team. Even if he wasn’t directly involved his role as the leader would have to give him a feeling of some sort of responsibility. That could be weighing on him immensely. Let’s presume innocence until proven guilty and in the meantime hope he gets the help he needs.

Wishing all the best for him and hope he gets the help he needs. Proud of the Flames organization for allowing players to come forward with their issues and dealing with them in a compassionate manner. Hopefully one more step forward in eliminating the stigma surrounding mental health.
