Fully expecting a Flames loss as the league darlings get the ice tilted well in their direction.

Glad to have Gilbert back for this one.

Let me say: "I don't think the Oilers will ever lose again."

I wonder what tough-guy Kane says tonight. It is hilarious how he hasn't said a single peep in years, but was all: "Who's gonna do anything about it" at the Heritage Classic. Flames don't have anyone to really do anything about it still, and I bet they Oilers will be trying to intimidate the Flames all night. I am interested to see how this team responds - turn into shrinking violets? Just ignore the noise and not allow the chatter/scrums to get them off their game?

Flames get too emotional playing the Oilers and end up trying to do too much at times individually. Play as a team tonight, ignore the noise, and they have a really good shot at stopping this grease streak from going on any further. Go Flames Go!

Would have been nice to have Pospisil for this one.

Edit I went and checked. We lost the last 3 but won the 3 previous to it.

This is really the only team that I really care if they win. So I don’t have to listen to their knuckle dragging fans.
I’m super pumped for this one. Possible 13 in a row! Hopefully Kaner is healthy and we can match toughness with the Flames. I like Foegs or Nuge to pop one home early. McD with a pretty big night I think, Skinny boy making saves when he needs to, and maybe a Boosh bomb in OT if needed. I like our chances!

You won’t have any in late April or May

Hey, we needed these January wins after the start we got off to. Even if we went 9-3 instead of 12-0 which is obviously really good, we’d be out of the playoffs still. It took 12-0 to get there.

Well, Kadri's role is shifted and he going to have to do a lot more hard dirty work low to get the puck compared to when he had Pospsil taking the majority of that duty. Hope it doesn't throw off the momentum of that line too much.

Have to give credit to this coaching staff and management group… their roster moves have made sense pretty much every time. And they are following through on their promise to give young guys a real chance on the team.

Felt like in recent years, the obvious or more exciting option for a call up was often not made in place of a veteran fourth line guy. Take today’s call up. Instead of bringing up Coronato, they would have brought up a fourth line veteran AHL player and just moved someone up from the existing fourth line to fill Posposil’s spot. Or if they did bring up a young top six forward from the farm team, the coach would usually limit his minutes instead of giving him a real opportunity.

Today, we have an exciting young sniper coming in who is not only going to get top six minutes on a scoring line but also some powerplay opportunity. Also, we’re bringing in Klapka who has all kinds of upside and adds a different element to the fourth line with his size and skill. These guys are being given the best opportunity to succeed.

They might struggle. They might do great. Either way, at least we will get to see them given a proper chance to show what they can do.

They should do it anyway for cap reasons. Why develop players if you never plan on graduating them to the big team?
