They should definitely be doing it more often then, if:
-it turns out well.
-Lindholm and Hanifin are still considered 2 of their more recent good, "young" acquisitions.
-Lindholm and Hanifin are still here.

Lindholm and Hanifin were good young players when the Flames acquired them. They are still on the team.
Sharangovich was a good young player when the Flames acquired him. He is still on the team.
Those are the examples I came up with just by scanning the current roster. Seems to me it's a bit out of line to say the Flames don't acquire good young players.

As much as we all like trades, I think there's also a lot of value in continuity, even in rebuilds. I think the continuity is part of why Boston, Winnipeg, and Pittsburgh have been surprisingly successful. Of course, there's an question as to causation.
It would be nice to have some younger guys stick around for the long haul. I hope Sharangovich's next deal is longer term.

Conny is certainly proving he knows more about hockey than I do with this trade. More than just the goals, this guy has added a bit of a spark to this team. I hope he can keep it up.

Really cool to see him leading all new guys including DeBrincat who was an enviable addition by Detroit at the time.

The numbers will, in fact, change every time one of those players scores.

While I was looking at Lindholm yesterday I noticed just how poorly that line is performing, and Sharangovich is no different. He has struggled pretty much all season outside of the offensive burst that he's currently riding.
Yegor Sharangovich:
CF%: 46.97
SF%: 49.38
GF%: 35.94
xGF%: 45.84
HDCF%: 46.58
HDGF%: 32.26
Off Zone Start %: 54.97
Shooting %: 19.0 (Career Average with this season included: 14%)
The guy seems to be on an unsustainable heater.
On the positive side though, there's a decent chance that his play is being brought down by his current linemates. In New Jersey (2020-2023):
CF%: 51.90
SF%: 50.41
GF%: 45.04
xGF%: 51.25
SCF%: 51.95
HDCF%: 50.26
HDGF%: 46.62
Off Zone Start %: 62.10
...or it could be that his on-ice performance was boosted by his linemates in NJD, which largely included Jack Hughes.

Are those Sharangovich’s year long numbers or just since he’s been on a line with Lindholm and Huberdeau? Because for the first half of his season he bounced around so much, including 4th line time.

Those are his year long stats, but as an indicator:
Lindholm/Mang/Sharangovich: CF% of 45.4
Huberdeau/Lindholm/Sharangovich: CF% of 48.5
His time on the 4th line alongside Greer and Duehr ran for about 50 minutes, and posted a CF% of 65.6. While his time with Greer and Ruzicka (16 minutes) yielded 35.7 CF%.
(just stats pulled from frozenpool)

Isn’t this exactly what the Devils fans were telling us we were getting when the deal was made? A very streaky scorer who looks all world when he is on a heater (thanks to that lethal shot) but at other times looks like a fringe player (which we saw early this year)

Even when he's not scoring, he doesn't look like a fringe player to me. Also, all scorers, when they're not scoring, don't look like much.

Have to show Sharangovich some love here. Dude has blown away any expectations I had of him going into the season. Figured he would struggle the first half of the season due to new team, new teammates, new system, new city, new surrounding and etc. But credit to him, he's fit in seamlessly.
Props to Conroy for the scouting work. They clearly did some homework on him and it's paid off. Some of his attributes that have surprised me is how strong he is on the puck. For a guy listed at 6'2", 196 lbs, you might expect him to be lanky and slight, but he uses his body to shield the puck very effectively. He also has a very fluid stride with the puck, very similar to Backlund in the way that they accelerate with the puck on their stick. Obviously his laser beam of a shot has to be mentioned, but soft hands he has in tight is a surprise. Guys with heavy shots don't typically have such deft touch, so that's another trait of his that's impressed me.
Again, great trade by Conroy, hope Sharangovich continues to impress and hope Connie can continue to make us proud as a GM. Want to cheer for him for all that he's done as a Flame
