Isn't the Dark Knight series suppose to be very very dark? I think this version of the joker suits the dark tones of the Dark Knight comics. Pretty much everyone was disturbed, if I recall correctly. And this includes Batman.

The Dark Knight was a pretty dark series, which made it such a fun series.

WHooohoooo! Anthony Michael Hall!
He better reprise his role from the Breakfast Club, or at least reveal himself to be the new Dick Grayson!

Making him look like an over the edge crazy with bad makeup kind of ruins that character for me.

For me the Joker was the most effective when he was a completely insane psycho capable of unspeakable horrors and violent as hell. This seems closer to that.

If anyone hasn't read "The Dark Knight Returns" series by Frank Miller (300, Sin City) I'd highly recomend it. Just awesome. Changed the course of comic books forever.

Awesome, just awesome. Can't wait, I was really skeptical when I heard the Heath was the Joker, but, this one pic has me doing a complete 360 on him being named the Joker.

Possible spoiler here if you don't know the Batman story line from the comics and don't want to have a possible suprise ruined. Hightlight my text its in white.
I wonder which road they take for this character. They could introduce him story line wise like Dr. Connors in Spiderman, or do they plan to bring him into the mix in this movie as a suprise? Will be interesting to see. I would rather see him come into play in the third movie, I like characters getting introduced, get some time to know them before they turn bad. I believe that Harvey starts out as a politician, little bit of a joke with his character name "Two Face" I guess

I am also looking forward to this film. Like a lot of you, I thought Katie Holmes was the one weak point in Batman Begins - she looked about 17 years old playing an Assistant DA, and her nipples were distracting.
The only thing that sucks is that a few weeks ago this picture was going around, and it turned out to be fake:
Now that was a good fake.

Don't you mean 180? Cause a 360 would, you know, bring you back to your original position - which was skepticism of Heath Ledger as Joker.
Anyway

Haha!! I was having a "discussion" with a juniour designer about rotating objects in Illustrator. She kept saying how she should rotate something "negative 90 degrees" and I jokingly said "you really should rotate it 270 degrees instead". So she did. Sigh. I laughed out loud and she had no idea what had just happened.

Just playing Devil's advocate wit ya.
Now I'm really pumped for this movie. But wasn't Ryan Phillipe supposed to be Two-Face? Not that it would have worked away (hello - pretty boy!), but IMDB had some news line that said he was supposed to be it. Oh well.
