Not for a defence of genocide. Pure evil.

How many times a day do you think you say or type genocide?
A defensive war vs a militant terror organization that murdered and raped 1200 Israeli citizens while taking hundreds of hostages is not a genocide.
9,000 Hamas militants have been killed, we know you love to post statistics claiming they are civilians. Israel is fighting Hamas who has created a pariah nazi like state in Gaza to be Irans proxy. The war is 100% legitimate, and even if you think it is not. Nothing you can do about it, except I guess pervert the word genocide online.

This is revealing but unsurprising. It serves Netanyahu to prosecute a war with no end with a stated goal that effectively amounts to the realization of the Likud ambition of Israeli sovereignty from the Jordan to the sea. It's both an outcome he wants and a means to sustain his power, which would otherwise expire with the end of the conflict.
Haaretz also has a good article today about Netanyahu's relative lack of interest in the hostages and his need to avoid accountability being a motivating factor for his actions.

Netanyahu is a dinosaur that's gotten too wrapped up in his own history. He needs to go

It's almost like they've been deliberately targetting civilians this whole time to accomplish this goal.

That is crazy. I thought it was illegal to make someone stateless.

Yes, we're from Palestine and thank you for your concern.
I, personally didn't have it that bad, all things considered. My parents tried very hard to provide us with a normal middle class life before and after we arrived in Canada.
My parents, however, had a very rough life.

Seem plain to me that Bibi knew of the attack on Oct 7th, let it happen, and is using the opportunity to avoid losing power, cement some kind of legacy in Israel, and deal with the Gaza problem once and for all.
I refuse to believe a country with one of the greatest spy agencies didn't know. They have intelligence sharing with the US. Their satellite, signals, and human intelligence systems are the best in the world. The Egyptians warned the Israelis and were rebuffed. I find it almost impossible Hamas carried out an operation of this size in complete secrecy.
Fast forward to today, why would you flatten every piece of infrastructure in Gaza other than to dispossess and depopulate the area completely. Collective guilt and punishing the civilian population has been off limits for decades. This is about planting a flag and never leaving, with the intention of driving out the hold outs over the next few years. Look to the west bank for the game plan going forward after the operation is complete.
They don't believe the Palestinians are people to bargain with in good faith, simply obstacles in their vision to be killed or driven into the neighboring countries. There has never been any genuine attempts at a 2 state solution, Israeli politics is as radical as the people they claim to be fighting against.

That whole re-structuring the justice system issue kinda fizzled away after this didn't it?

Q, Bagor and Beninho, Out of curiosity, what is your expected outcome in this war vs what you hope happens? I only ask, since you folks are closer to the conflict than most and it looks like your opposing opinions likely mirror those of Israelis and Palestinians.
Seems like Q and Bagor have time and time again had to defend their position that Hamas was wrong in everything they have done, but Israel's response is very out of proportion. But I never see any acknowledgment of when will the Palestinian people take responsibility for Hamas and start joining the effort to eliminate Hamas.
Beninho, you seem less interested in any type of diplomacy and are fine with Israel's methods. You have even gone as far as calling the Palestinian people Nazis. How dare someone with your back ground, would stoop to that level. You are actually diminishing what happened to your people in WW2 by doing this. Give your head a shake buddy.

I have my own disagreements with Israel's methods, that I've already expressed.
However, Hamas has a lot in common with fascist organizations from WW2.
The comparison is pretty justified.

Initially Beninho said this "Gaza is a Nazi like state whose population has been brainwashed since birth". Which seems to indicate that all Palestinians in Gaza are like minded to Hamas and in his opinion like the Nazis.

Hamas took total control of the education system and was brainwashing people. They were training young children to act as martyrs for their cause. Very similar to the Hitler youth movements.

So then you agree with Beninhos comment on the drone footage that implies that Gaza got what they asked for because they are a Nazi state?
Is there no separation anymore in how we describe a people, where we can just throw out terms from history and further dilute the meaning. Nazis planned and murdered millions of Jews. Gazans apparently are brainwashed at childbirth, so the equivalent is that they are just like Nazis? Its one thing to suggest Hamas is like the Nazis, its another to suggest that All Gazans are. It seems to me that if all Gazans are brainwashed to want to kill Jews, then they are doing a piss poor job of it by fleeing for their lives from Israel.

My expected outcome is that Israel achieves nothing significant militarily, but completely destroys Gaza's civilian infrastructure. Israel sooner or later gets fed up with the war and retreats, claiming that they have "completely destroyed Hamas' military capabilities." In reality, Hamas keeps building their military strength and becomes capable as Hezbollah is now. As in, Israel can definitely take them on in a war, but it's not worth their effort. Whether or not Gaza gets rebuilt, I'm not sure. My gut instinct says yes.
