Yeah, make sure you get a bidet with hot and cold water.
Sometimes I feel too lazy (of course!) to take a shower, I just use the bidet to clean my a**

Every day this thread pops up I wonder if this is the day I pull the trigger. When we did the our renos I made sure the electrician put outlets in the bathrooms so the bathrooms could be bidet ready. Still researching which ones, but I agree the doing a bidet right, means having warm water. Currently trying to decide between the Toto C2 or C5. For those that that have bidet's is the remote enough of a benefit for the extra 100 or so bucks?

I think the remote means the bidet has a sleeker look - unless the Toto still comes with controls off to the side of the seat whether you have a remote or not.

This discussion about cold/warm bidet water reminds me of George Costanza crying out, “the water was cold….significant shrinkage.”

It is about sleekness. The C5 has all the controls on the remote, the C2 has the controls beside the seat. As far as I can tell that is the only difference. All the other features are the same (heated seat, heated water, multiple spray options and settings).

I have the Tushy Spa 3.0 and do not exaggerate when I say it may be the best thing I've ever purchased under $200. It hooks into your hot water line.

We have a Toto washlet; warm water, dryer, adjustable pressures & directions.
Auto lid & lighting. After spray cleaning.
I don't know how the rest of you peasants live.

I put in the cheapest model costco on line had to offer. And then promptly got 4 more for the rest of the bathrooms in my house and my BC condo. I don't mind the one setting "tap water" temperature.
Once you go bidet you never go away.

I am travelling in South America atm and bidets are very common here as their plumbing systems can't handle toilet paper being flushed. I have to say, they are pretty awesome. I think I'm going to have to invest in one when I return home. What is the consensus re: best value for money/easy install?

I dont know about the rest of you but I'm still chuckling at the concept of a -35 shot of water up the ass.

My arctic stream bidets have arrived, so I'll find a time soon to install them and tell you how a liquid icicle up the arse works compared to drinking a morning espresso shot.

Yeah, I have the icicle special at my other place and while not as comfortable as my home throne, it's still a bazillion times better, cleaner and more civilized than reaching around with dry paper like some nasty caveman. I was a wet wipe man, myself, so not as gross as you dry wipers, but either way I'm not reaching back there after my ascension to bidet greatness.

Sounds like they may be working toward a caffeine, high colonic setup.

Most commonly they have a tank or on-demand heater. So instead we just extended an outlet since we had the wall open already. I still haven't purchased a toilet or bidet yet.

Not sure about the Tushy Spa, but most of the ones that provide warm water require an electric plug-in. The heat plate will periodically turns on, so when you clean you a**, warm water will shoot out.

"I crap icicles now!!"
Ahhh....the icicle colonic. I'll probably need to patent that before some Naturopath beats me to it.
