key word being 'yet'.
Here's the thing: there is no 'right price'. And people will get used to whatever the price is. When you want something, but it is more expensive than you'd like, but you really want it, you either walk away, or you start to justify the price in your head, until you're on board.
It's true with everything. So ask a lot, and then let the game come to you. Jersey may not want to pay that yet, but they just might change their mind as we get closer to the deadline and other teams start to add players.

Conroy doing great. Not doing anyone any favors unless they want to pony up. The goalie market is in our favor.

Conroy gets a statue if he gets Nemec or Mercer back in a trade. He can even toss in Tanev lol

It’s also on NJ to show how much they want him. To prove how much they want to add him to the team to help persuade him to waive.
Conroy is not going to approach Marky to waive for a mere couple of pick coming back. No way.

No goalie that isn’t on a sweetheart contract is getting traded for anything more than a pittance. It won’t happen.

Well they aren't getting Markstom then
Why trade him?
Them or the Leafs or whoever can miss the playoffs if they would rather

Doesn't have to happen. Flames are happy to keep him. But if a team is all in and really needs a goalie, they you have to punch up your trade demand.
Only other goalie who could be available who has enough clout is Gibson.

IMO that's a smart way to do things if you can. Even though there's 20+ games post deadline, if you can get a few upgrades in 10-15 games earlier, you can then determine at the deadline if you have to tweak further depending on how the new players and team have responded.
But, that's an advantage for buyers, not so much sellers.

Devils just lost again, sounds like their fans want this season to be a learning curve and become a contender next year but will their management wait. Feel like they will get desperate soon.

Devil's are in a worse spot in the standings than the Flames are...if they are going all in they should go now
Tofolli trade looks.pretty bad if they miss the playoffs

I would love it if Conroy could fleece the Devils again. I mean the first trade is looking like a fleecing so far.
Imagine taking Vanacek back as a cap dump for Markstrom and then having Vanacek bounce back with the Flames after a change of scenery, he's had some strong seasons before this one and goalies are voodoo. Meanwhile you also get Nemec or Holtz plus a 1st or something crazy like that.
Then you're flipping Vanacek or Vladar for more assets later on.

Leafs are now in a WC spot...multiple teams 2 points back that would knock them below the playoff line

Imo Nemec's recent stint has probably moved him back to untouchable, though prior to that we might have been able to pull it...
But Mercer...
Could Lindy+Markstrom with retention be worth both?

I keep saying it, but IMO Mercer is the Devils third most valuable forward after Hughes/Hischier. I cannot see them trading him.

It would make me absolutely giddy if the Leafs missed the playoffs in Tre's first season there

Falls in line with what I said earlier about what it would take.

Has Weekes elaborated or discussed this further at all. It looks like he just dropped an emoji and left. not very substantial

If the Devils were to make a big move to save their season it would be sooner than later. Their record right now is barely better than the Flames so I don't know if they will have much of an appetite to give up important assets when they are no lock to make the playoffs.

equal points with 2 games in hand for them but the east seems like a higher bar at the moment
interestingly the Leafs and Devils might be fighting for a spot, could be good news for the Flames
