Worse even. A pile of bricks would produce far fewer stupid or inane responses. Sometimes saying nothing is better than constantly responding. What's that quote about staying silent and appearing to be a fool, but opening your mouth and removing all doubt?

Vladar is maybe the first reliable backup I can think of on this team where he can be counted on to cover big games. Underrated pick up from a few seasons ago. Seriously impressed.

At least with that there's a futures view.

Wanting your players to suck has no upside at all.

(but I'm with you ... a loss in a bad season is a silver lining after cheering for a win)

During the game it even seemed like there was a bit of a delayed reaction. Like the crowd and even at watching it at home I was like "oh we just won!"

Yeah, I know, right?

Here's a screenshot from the video. I circled the puck in the bottom-right corner. It has already left the net. You can still see the net bulge from the goal, though. Image spoilered for size.

Spoiler!

Oh yeah, you can see from that, it's in the net, there's no light, no one is standing up.

And the start the oilers had. Which was worse.

Good for Alberta

He has a shakey game every once in a while. But in his defence he barely ever plays. It would be tough to come in with no rust.

Vladar is definitely a scrapper though. He gives you everything he has every time he’s in. Great teammate.

I have nothing against Vladar, but we had several reliable backups on the team in recent memory.

Rittich was pretty reliable, posting a .904, .911, and .907 while starting as the backup/starter with both M. Smith and Talbot. If you consider Rittich the starter, then Talbot was great with a .919sv%.

Before that we had both Elliott, and Johnson posting nearly identical numbers with a .910sv%, Johnson was a pretty good backup, especially to start that year.

I loved his reaction after Sharangovich scored in OT. The guy was so pumped and so stoked when the Flames won. Love the guy's no-quit attitude and doing it every night. True competitor!

I was there. It was in and out so fast we didn’t know it was a goal until Sharky celebrated

I still can’t get over that Sharan goal.

That puck looked like it teleported. Haven’t seen a snapshot like that since Semin imo.

I feel like I am missing something. Are there people actively rooting against Vladar?

The guy seems like a decent backup. And he has a cool name.
