Okay...that was awful.

Not in the good..."so bad its good" way but in the "that was boring as hell" way.

Nobody does a hiariously bad job, not even Gene Simmons. I'm surprised that Selleck agreed to be in this thing.

It was just...not bad enough to be hilarious, had a few moments of hilarity, nobody was so bad as to be funny, it was just...'meh.'

After the soccer matches today I'm re-watching "The Day After Tomorrow"

Seems appropriate given the weather.

I felt the same after I watched Runaway about a year ago. Just shaking my head in disappointment.

I followed Runaway up with Fortress which exceeded all of my expectations. just funkin' awesome!

Don't think I can add much to The Fabelmans praise that hasn't already been said, but the cameo toward the end was unexpected.
Spoiler!

Great movie, was much more a coming of age film than the biopic I was expecting.

May I recommend to you Knight Moves as a double feature?

We recently got an all new entertainment system so have been watching quite a bit of stuff lately.

Hesitantly binged Peaky Blinders and loved it. I've never been huge on period type shows, other than war movies, but my wife talked me into it and glad she did. Paul Anderson stole the show for me. He was awesome, but everyone in the show was. Great acting I thought.

Oppenheimer I thought was just ok. Not bad or anything, I'm just not sure what all the hype was about honestly. I guess I was just expecting a little bit more. Wife thought it was great, but she's in love with Cillian Murphy though so..I've actually become fan now too, after watching this and Peaky. He's a very good actor.

Uncut Gems, kept waiting for it to get better, it did not. Endless, ridiculous dialog. Weird show, I thought it sucked.

Leave the World Behind, kept waiting for it to get better, it only got worse with one of the worst endings I've seen in forever. Not sure what Ethan Hawke was thinking. Do not waste a couple hours on this.

Fury, one of the best. Seen it before, but with new equipment, WOW, just wow.

Dunkirk, see above.

All's Quiet On The Western Front. Same. Usually no such thing as a bad war movie. Usually.

The Patriot..finally got around to it. I really enjoyed it, I wasn't sure I would. Great bassy explosions, etc.

Legend was decent..was kind of forcing myself to watch something at the time, so I probably would've liked it more had I been in more of a watching mood, if that makes sense. Tom Hardy's great in just about anything though.

I'm looking forward to Napolean, anyone seen that yet?

Dune will show you what your system can do. Blackhawk Down is fun with the surround sound and base as well. Neat to hear the difference between the Blackhawk and ‘lil bird rotors as they fly over

I always recommend the movie Mortal Engines to people who get a new system and want to see their capabilities . The movie is nothing special at all, but the 4K disk really showcases the format, I don't think I've seen a more crisp picture.

Uncut Gems is an "experience" movie. It was anxiety visualized. I've never experienced something that made me so physically sick and panicked. I loved it.

Wait, are you saying you liked it or felt it disappointing? I thought it was brilliant, but I never saw the original.

I never finished it.

I didn't hate it or anything but it was basically a 'feature-length panic attack.'

Which...ya know...I got enough issues with. So I just couldnt get through it. If anything, rather than an indictment of the film thats probably a glowing endorsement. It hits it's marks so hard I couldn't keep going.

I don't know.

As for Oppenheimer? I'm not a 'Nolan Fanboy' as I thought Tenet was garbage, Dunkirk was tepid and Interstellar was self-indulgent tripe, but Oppenheimer IMO was a Masterpiece.

Has a movie ever been as poorly marketed as Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping?

Heard it had a cult following so finally gave it a chance. The trailers made it seem like a dumb Bieber parody when it’s actually Lonely Island The Movie with scathing attacks on the music industry and celebrities reminiscent of Spinal Tap. Has some hilarious songs and is jam packed with cameos. Tim Meadows was too funny. 9/10 would watch again.

Yeah no, I meant same, as in same as the other two above it. It was great, I loved it.

As far as Uncut Gems go, I could see how some would like it and that there was a certain theme going on, (sort of psychological thriller maybe?) you being part of the guys stress/greed, etc. It just wasn't the direction I thought the movie was going to take. I thought I was going to get in to more of an adventure movie, as the trailer I believe showed them mining/exploring in Africa, etc, opposed to the "experience movie" it ended up. If I knew more of what I was getting into, it might've been a better movie for me.

Uncut Gems is like the Book of Job on coke structured as a Basketball game.

The next movie you have to see is Speed Racer.

I totally get why Uncut Gems wouldn't be someone's cup of tea. The person I watched it with didn't like it for many the same reasons.

I get anxiety everytime I even think of that film.

Another interesting round of “Which do you watch” background noise movie game in the home gym.

Armageddon vs Black Adam

Went with Armageddon, it’s only painful when Affleck is on mid set and can’t mute.

I watched this great modern movie that was basically the re telling of the Frankenstein tale, where a doctor brings back to life a young women. While the story has been done before this was a great update with a wonderful script, and amazing visuals with lots of shot on scene cinematography. Plus it also manages to have a great message that applies to modern times. Of course I'm talking about Frankenhooker, wonderful 90s film that everyone needs to see at least once.

Yeah, it’s fantastic. One of the better comedies to come in recent(ish) years.

I just watched “Self Reliance”, and while it’s not as “haha funny” I found it pretty good and interesting. It messes with the viewer a bit towards the end in what’s actually going on. I’d recommend it. It’s a nice simple 90 minute movie.

Watched a fantastic Korean horror film The Wailing. It was a riveting watch and at 2.5hrs it never drags or loses your attention. It also has a great mix of comedy and absolutely terrifying moments. Korean cinema is putting out absolute bangers lately, especially in the horror genre.
