Well, when you are making more than you could ever imagine and make more than you can reasonably spend, skiing is a rather fun activity. Provided of course it doesn't become habit forming/unhealthy (kind of like drinking on weekends and but not week days? Enjoying cannabis but that doesn't effect work/family life, etc?)

Legalize it!

Thank god I'm poor. If I was rich and famous, I'd probably be dead.

I bet a lot of these guys settle down eventually though, once they have real family obligations. I suspect it's also why rebuilding young teams often target veteran players who are known for having healthy lifestyles. When I see a young team sign some older rando, I wonder if that is the guy who babysits and keeps them in moderation.

I heard in the past that generally coaches keep players in line when it comes to speaking about these things too openly. Hard to say team to team how they moderate their guys but sex workers and drugs are rampant in sports.

Theoren Fleury said in his book that he failed NHL drug tests and was never disciplined for it. I know its Fleury so who knows if it was true, but I wouldn't be that surprised.

Can you just not? You said the same thing about Kylington in another thread.

I hope you never have any sensitive problems you might need help with.

It's not against the CBA to do blow and other hard drugs, only performance enhancing. The NHLPA and the league will let players know to be careful when illegal drugs show up in their blood tests.

They just let them know about scenarios and risks involving drugs, their dealers, their contracts being void if caught at boarder/police security etc

A guy getting the help he needs is turned into cap circumvention because why???
Not every single thing that happens is a team trying to break the rules, guy obviously needs help.

I’m just glad to hear skiing is making a comeback. Except I don’t know how you guys can afford it. Damn that #### is expensive. But there’s nothing better than fresh powder on a crisp winter morning.

The 90s were a pretty lawless time but again, really, the League and PA are typically more concerned about 'Performance Enhancing' drugs until the recreational ones are 'Performance Degrading.'

Then it becomes problematic. And then 9/11 changed everything!

So if you're snowboarding are you all out Tony Montana, or just inhaling second hand cannabis?

A player seeks help and you think its a conspiracy.

No need to have conflicting feelings.

If the cap counts during the playoffs, it will virtually end deadline deals, as the full amount of the cap would then count (for the playoffs) , not just the pro rata portion.
