The Sharks at Sabres and Kraken at Penguins games were scheduled to start later, but were changed due to the NFL's Steelers at Bills playoff game being postponed until today.

JT Miller Brock Boeser Elias Pettersson (back to) JT Miller bounces a dump in off three jackets into the net. Jackets then immediately answer back on their first shot of the game.

Canucks get kicked right in the PDOs

Edit - Ian Cole with a turn over leading to a goal where he also blocked off the goalie from making a save and a penalty within 8 minutes of play. He's having a game.

Edit 2 - Conor Garland puts the Canucks up 2 - 1 near the end of the 1st

You’ll never hear a broadcaster mail it in more than Jack Edwards is right now.

Stolarz rocking a .750 Save % right now for the Panthers, single-handedly keeping the Ducks in this game. It's 4-3 for Florida over Anaheim after 2, but the score really flatters the Ducks. They've not been good in this game.

Tkachuk is known as the NHL's premier mouthguard chomper the way Stephen Curry is for the NBA's Golden State Warriors.

It has been documented by Matthew's brother and Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk that he picked up the habit from watching now-Red Wings forward Patrick Kane back in his days with the Chicago Blackhawks.

Perhaps Tkachuk's most famous mouthguard chomping moment was his series-clinching goal in the final seconds of of Game 4 of the 2023 Eastern Conference Final against the Carolina Hurricanes that sent the Panthers to their second Stanley Cup Final in franchise history.

Man, whatching players shy away from an incoming Bennett hit will never get old.

Edit: Stolarz not looking good on that one.

I knew about the former. Didn't realize he also had cancer. That suuuuucks. Whether you like him or not, guy has been part of Boston sports and hockey for a long time.

Flipped over to the Canucks-Jackets game and saw Johnny with some nice play entering the zone as he motors, picking up speed, deking and dishing. Miss seeing that on the Flames.

Probably stuck in Buffalo due to the travel ban. Canucks had to bus out of Buffalo to Toronto before the travel ban kicked in and then flew from Toronto to Columbus on short notice yesterday. Team dinner was at Panda Express. I assume Shorty and Tomlinson weren't able to make the quick travel plan pivot and are hanging out at a hotel til Tuesday.

He's looked good today. I think he's been a factor leading directly or indirectly to two of the three Jackets goals.

Edit- A very tired, hanging on for dear life, Canucks team gets dragged to OT by Casey DeSmith who played very well to keep the team in the game, but also let in a bad third goal by not sealing off the post and letting something in from the goal line.

I think I read that the crew no longer charters with the team (apparently, they used to) and as a result, they had to take their own flights home instead. Not sure why they couldn't fly to Columbus, perhaps some travel bans? Makes sense since Canucks drove to Toronto to fly out to Columbus.

I don't understand that non-call on Montour's breakaway. I mean, I get that it actually wasn't a penalty... but since when is that not called anyway? That's called every single time I've ever seen it (most calls on breakaways aren't actually penalties, but they're still called).

Edit: Wow, and now FLA get's called for "roughing - talking off a helmet" because two players were tangled up and ANA guy's helmet fell off when FLA guy pushed him away. Then an immediate even up against ANA, and then no call on Bennett getting hauled down in front of the ANA net. Refs, man.

Edit: Forsling so good. Single-handedly kept the puck in multiple times in the dying seconds.

A travel ban was put into effect at 9pm est after the game on Saturday. Canucks were due to fly out just before but the flight got cancelled, so the Canucks had to bus out ASAP before hand. Assume the sportsnet crew was due to go out at the same time or the next day.

Canucks and Jackets going to a skills competition. Lame.

I can report that Johnny is still using his same go-to backhand deke through the five-hole move in the shootout...
