It should happen, but I just don’t love the solution. Like say we got a title retroactively for when we were runners up to Chelsea. As a fan you got none of the enjoyment or anything from that. The club gained none of the usual fanfare and such that comes with it.
Missing arguably 3 most creative players in maddison, son, and kulu
Bissouma and Sarr as well
I'll take it
We were dominant in a lot of areas, but just not enough in the final third. A guess a few guys were sick, and Deki was sick enough to not make the trek. How bad was United though? Limited to some long balls out and basically sitting back. Rashford scored against us (of course, because it seems like he always does), but it wasn’t a great performance for them.
"Everton FC and Nottingham Forest have each confirmed to the Premier League that they are in breach of the league's PSR," the league said in a statement. This is as a result of sustaining losses above the permitted thresholds for the assessment period ending 2022-23."
Should Everton be found guilty by the independent Premier League commission, they could face a further points deduction, as could Forest.
Earlier this year, Manchester City were also referred to an independent commission over more than 100 alleged breaches of finance rules since the club were acquired by the Abu Dhabi-based City Football Group in 2008. No verdict has been reached in that case.
So the jist of it is Everton's previous penalty was for 21-22 breaches and they (allegedly) then cheated again in 22-23? Hard to have much sympathy for them on my end if true. I understand the whole thing with City, but fans of other mid to low end premier league clubs who actually followed the rules are the victims of that not the big six. They are long overdue to go down. Bonus would be that we all get spared from watching more Dycheball and having to watch Tarkowski rugby tackle 2 or 3 guys a game using his arms. Though the one thing I don't understand is that Everton had positive transfer income every year recently - must be that they are paying way too much in wages?
Leicester in particular got completely screwed... Everton cheats, somehow the points deduction gets delayed to this season instead and they go down by 2 pts.
Sounds like Forest are on a knife's edge, if they can get the Johnson transfer to count during the accounting period they won't have broken the rules even though it went through afterwards, their claim is by waiting a couple weeks and selling him outside that time their leverage went way up somehow and they got much more money so it should count? They look pretty bad to me this year, I feel like a 10 point penalty for them would be curtains and not only send them down but destroy their club for a long time, they have a huge wage bill and many years of transfer payments ahead and probably only 2-4 players that will sell. I could see them in League one in a couple years if they go down.

Evertons statement says that this latest charge incorporates the same period, or at least an overlap, of what they were already charged for and appealed. I don't know if that's accurate, but that's what they say.
And initially I felt bad for Forest, but they did have their chance to sell Johnson albeit for 30m instead of the 50m or whatever we paid. And I also thought that maybe the date should lineup with the end of the window, but the thing is the date lines up for when the window opens. In reality...they cheated and mismanaged the situation, which is why the rules exist.
My only disappointment here is that it's again the clubs fighting for survival that got hit, while the major breaches that we all know exist go along. It is interesting to see that spending this window is so far down though, so maybe there is something to these regulations after all.

Agree, it's finally got some teeth now. Lots of clubs having to sell before they can buy and getting frozen this window and you're seeing more clubs at championship level hang on to their stars this window. I think eventually it's going to push prices downwards a little as well.
For me aside from levelling the playing field slightly, the really big benefit is stopping the chelsea's of the world from hoarding talent that they have no intent of playing as a starter ever... just farming players out via loan or sticking them on the bench to meet their domestic player quota so they don't develop. I think they've really hurt the english talent pool beyond the top 20 guys by stunting player development.
Uniteds first major move under Ratcliffe is poaching City for their new CEO. Highly regarded, from what I've read ... was expected by many to take over from Txiki at some point.
Quote:
Manchester United are set to pull off a huge surprise by appointing Omar Berrada from Manchester City as their new chief executive.
United have been looking for a CEO to succeed Richard Arnold, who left Old Trafford ahead of INEOS agreeing to buy a 25 per cent stake in the club. That search has led them to move for Berrada, one of the key men behind the recent on and off-field success enjoyed by local rivals City.
United were seeking a candidate with a proven track record in football as a priority, but also highly capable of running the business side. Berrada has excelled in those areas at City, and the latter while working for Barcelona beforehand.
He will take executive leadership of both areas, plus sit on the club board of directors and report to United’s fresh ownership set-up.

Thats all well and good, but now that he doesnt have the protection of working for City he's probably going to get indicted for Fraud, so I wouldnt get too attached.

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has said he stands by the governing body's decision to ban Manchester City from all European competitions for two years in 2020, despite the ban later being overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
In February 2020, UEFA's Club Financial Control Body found City in breach of Financial Fair Play rules after deeming they'd falsely inflated sponsorship revenues between 2012 and 2016. Along with the two-year ban, City were also handed a €30 million ($33m) fine.
However, Ceferin maintains UEFA were right to sanction City.
"We know we were right. We wouldn't decide if we didn't think we were right," he said in an interview with The Telegraph.
Says hes out of energy, no health issues just out of energy
Hopefully a few years away and he manages again, maybe a national team?
Not a fan of some of his press conferences, but his teams always played very entertaining football so it's a huge loss not just for liverpool but for the game

just going to underscore how extraordinary Ferguson and Wenger were. Doing this kind of job takes a huge toll ... doing it for two decades at the same club is insane.
can't say I'll miss him. Bloody brilliant coach obviously.
