Maybe if we all got off our computers, phones, Calgary Puck and turn off the game, we could solve the problem!

I recommend board games.

Want to try and give them a heads up in case they need to spend an evening at a hotel.
Many thanks

Why watch them hurt their draft position.

And with current power plants and heating both heavily relying on natural gas, what Alberta needs is nuclear or coal.

Thanks for the update!! Any idea what caused the delay outside of weather? Looks like a Dreamliner so perhaps they have really struggled with the weather these days.

Scientists are saying the warming of the planet (and subsequently less polar ice) is causing these polar vortices to dip down into where they haven't before instead of staying up north where they traditionally have.

I'm watching the game. If Smitty wants to pump her Libertarian BS then she's just going to have to do her job and figure it out.

I was wondering that myself, I know we're right on the limit of what de-icing fluid can handle but the 787's do seem to be having more delays than other types. I wonder if it's just because they have less of them and with them generally being scheduled for international flights they're extra careful about them getting stuck somewhere. Or it's just confirmation bias and it's not just a 787 thing at all
Or could just be as simple as the jetbridge being frozen and there's only so many gates that can fit the bigger frames, but I'm really just spitballing. I only started getting back into aviation in the last year or so, so my knowledge is limited. Someone like acey or speede would need to chime in
edit: unfortunate side note though, looks like that honolulu flight went right back to the gate.

Thank you. I am keeping an eye on it via flightaware and notice that it was taxing for 20+ minutes.
I will see if it get's canceled and then make sure my brother and family make sleeping arrangements on their Hawaii to YYC return

I think you are talking about Cascade.
They are commissioning and won't be generating much until they are done that process.
I don't see any unplanned generator outages.

I'm sure Alberta's lack of nuclear is bureaucratic, have we ever been close to anything getting approved? Is there a tldr?
