I can't believe that team went on this season saving run.

They looked cooked when they were 5-12

Really sucks

They are still no good

As long as they don't win a game in April I don't care how many they win now (yes, they are still no good).

They've had so many things go their way during this stretch, including an incredibly soft schedule, several games against backup or 3rd string goalies, and refs who are gifting them timely PPs or looking the other way when they commit obvious infractions. That team gets away with a lot of crap, especially McCheater with his patented holding the opponent's stick move, which he does at least twice a game.

And you can't tell me that the refs aren't aware of what he's doing, as it's so comically obvious when he does it. At this point it's pretty clear that they have a mandate from the league to ignore it.

Anyway...this current run of theirs won't last much longer once their schedule gets tougher and they finally have to play some legit contenders. I think they'll make the playoffs, but thankfully the chances of them getting anywhere near the Cup are zero.

Gregor got his start with Short. For those that don’t know John Short was an absolute gem, just a true gentleman. Covered amateur sports in the city like no other. Robin Brownlee also died yesterday, who covered the Oilers as well. Brownlee was not the legend short was, but he was only 65. Tough day yesterday.

Yeah, I was never a big Brownlee guy but 65 is way too young.

Just so we are clear. December 1st, around when this run started. They were 12 points back on the Canucks. They are now 14 points back. Probably doesn't make you feel better, but it's making me giggle.

7th in the West, 15th overall, approaching the halfway point of the season for the supposed cup contenders isn't much to be excited about.

Edmonton is No Good.

Anything that shows how no good Oilers are makes me giggle as well.

I look at these last 20 games, or really the first half of their season, and I can't help but wonder what it would look like if even a mid-level team got that kind of 'wink and a nod' 'help'. The Oilers have absolutely nothing going for them outside of the McTwins. Without the help they'd likely be just above the bottom, if not the bottom. Yet their fans can't see that.

It should be embarrassing to be an Oilers fan right now. To see how much hand-holding and help they are getting, and they are still failing, just not quite has hard.

Canucks won't be able to suckle on the teet of lady luck all season.

Will be funny to watch the fallout when Nucks fans see the fall of their most recent dynasty. They actually think their team is a powerhouse.

Watching the insecurity of Oiler fans over the Canucks since the season opening thrashings has brought an extra wrinkle of amusement to the year.

I guess it makes sense to see Oiler fans toss and turn over seeing another team doing better at what they've done in recent seasons (converting on an inordinately high percentage of chances and experiencing consistent good fortune) over a sustained period. And probably stings more that it's a Canadian rival, that is now stealing some of the precious spotlight they thought they were entitled to.

Winnipeg and Vancouver are likely the better teams this season top to bottom. It must pain the Oilers to be hard pressed to even crack the top 3 north of the border this season, even with all this streaking against largely underwhelming opponents.

Now you know the Flames fans feel when they hear the delirium from up north. If you had any awareness you'd know that Edmonton's been suckling that teat for some time. At least Vancouver's going to turn that into a division title, something the No Goods never managed despite having so many things go their way.

Bahahahahaha, oh Oilers winning streak and Oil Stain is back. I’m not a Canucks fan at all but they have a solid roster top to bottom with high end offensive talent, forward depth, decent defensive core and very solid goaltending. Luck has nothing to do with the Canucks success, they have found a system that works for them. Having said that, I don’t think for a second they will maintain this pace but they will still maintain a very strong winning percentage.

The irony of an Oilers fan saying another team is lucky………..bahahahahahahahahahahaha

But in fairness it isn’t really luck when the refs are in your teams pocket and the schedule makers create a stretch of muffin teams and ridiculous amounts of days off so the Oilers can rest their treasured McDavid and Draisaitl. Complete joke.
