at least, Schefter, Woj and others won't fish for reactions and attention by randomly tweeting stuff like Weekes did here. They aren't perfect, but at least it's usually just facts when stuff happens and that's it.
To me, Weekes is more similar to what Fabrizio Romano is doing. Clearly has sources, but can't help himself adding an additional, annoying layer of attention seeking (Romano even has a cringy catchphrase, for crying out loud).

The Flames have some of the worst luck in needing elite players for key roles (goalie, center) when the team is good and then having those key players when the team is mediocre. If the return is good, I’m ok trading Markstrom to a contender and then suffering through the growing pains of a Vladar/Wolf combo. Hopefully the younger players coming back in the trade can be contributors in time for Wolf to hit his prime.

Only teams I can see that would be looking at Markstrom. Could he return a 1st? Don't know that I've ever seen a goalie return that. All teams above hold a 2024 1st.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Sec14’s post was the source of the ‘rumour’ that Weekes is teasing.

It's really like the skies opened up for the Flames too, there seems to be an unusual amount of good teams that need a good starting goalie so the timing could not be better

Where's Rasta when you need him?
This is where I hope it is a huge overpay by a team, and that CGY is retaining $3M. CGY doesn't need to trade Marky this season, that's why it would have to be an overpay, wouldn't it?
That would also be the perfect way to start a retool and give both Vladar and Wolf a chance to take a step.

Cory Schneider was traded for a top 10 pick once.

I don't mind if they trade him, so long as Connie makes them pay large.
Are there only really 3 teams in the market? TOR, NJD, & CAR? Anyone else?
If Tre calls, then for sure make him pay through the nose - Knies (+), come on down!!
Could the market be heating up since PHA is in a WC spot, taking Hart off the market? Who else is really available and would be an improvement for a team?

Guy is playing great right now, but we know what the lows look like.
Not a cheap contract, so his performance makes it the easiest moment in time to move it
LA and Carolina are desperate and want to win now. And have assets. And you could see Marky waiving for either.
If they trade him now, it's selling paypal at $300 in July 2021.

He just uses it as a tag for most of what he posts. You can see it on all sorts of posts on his account.

Even that would be quite the move from toxic, untradeable asset.
I think the 2nd rounder was going with him a few months ago!

Given the amount of playoff bound teams with uncertainties in net I'm sure the Flames are receiving calls. I think the Kings are a team to look out for as they can't feel overly confident of a Talbot/Rittich tandem going into the playoffs. They are also on a bit of a slide so pressure is probably mounting to make a move sooner than later.

Thing is I'm not sure the Flames would move him for a 2nd.
I think if the Flames approached him to move his NTC and if the trade happens now it's because somebody is willing to overpay.
I could be wrong but that's my gut.

I'd imagine the Flames would either have to retain or take back a bad contract, or even both. Not sure a 2nd is enough in those circumstances ... cap space might be the most valuable asset in the league right now. If it's just a 2nd, I don't see how they would move him now.

With the lack of goaltenders, I wonder if his value will ever be higher....
He has two years remaining after this season.
Flames will need to look at the big picture,
