Which would be a shame, I really liked their selection but their pricing was whack.
Is unfortunate, but maybe that really expensive wine format doesnt work.

Looks like the Crowfoot Coop is undergoing some pretty major renovations on the interior of the store. Things are kind of a mess on the produce/meat side and selection is pretty thin. I didn't think that store needed a remodel so I'm surprised to see a lot of work being done.

I feel that was renovated like 10 years ago too

The meat selection at the Oakridge Co-op, which is not under renovation, has also become pretty dire. I wonder if Costco isn’t eating their lunch, so to speak, when it comes to costly goods like meat that can be bought much cheaper at bulk.

Co-Op is so over priced.
It's brutal, same quality you kind find elsewhere but at a high sticker price.

I recall that Crowfoot was their flagship store back in the day so it always received special attention but I'm not sure if they still consider it to be important. Maybe that is why it is getting makeover again?

They put in a sorta casual restaurant area that fell flat on its face the moment it opened.
As far as pure grocery stores go, it's probably too large of a space.
I do love their produce. They usually get really neat melons in the summer.

That was too bad. They initially opened with great prices/selectiom/quality. We were eating like 2-3 meals per week from there.
Then within a year they jumped the prices significantly, reduced the specials, and had less variety, and then it was immediately terrible value so everyone stopped going.
It's too bad, as initially that was a great service, and I inevitably bought a couple of other things when I was there. If they had raised the prices more gradually I'd probably still be there multiple times per week.

Is this different from the other Co-op markets like downtown and MacLeod where they have seating and a hot bar and a few things like that? Or was it a food court style with multiple options?

Similar to those but it had more options. It's been closed for many years now though, I'd guess like 8 or 9? Not sure exactly, I stopped going once they made it terrible.

Anyone remember the restaurant/cafeteria Co-op had in that Oakridge mall? I remember going there as a kid and having the most benign geezer food on earth. My dad loved it.

Come on, their fries and gravy was the highlight of Saturday morning grocery shopping . Almost as good as the Bay but failed when it came to malteds.

I always wish I was old enough to remember the Zellers Diner or the downtown Bay basement restaurant. I've heard only good things.

I didn't even know there was an upstairs. I barely remember a hotdog stand on the +15 level?

If you go to Seattle the Bon Marche is pretty similar.
