That would be an interesting development as the Hawks website shows all their massage therapists are men. It would definitely add another layer to the story.

That can't be it. How would he control and manipulate her? Unless it was an assault that is not grounds to terminate a contract, Perry and the NHLPA would have already filed a grievance.

Speaking hypothetically as who knows if it is the real story, I don't think any massage therapist wants it to be known that they've had relations with a patient.

Depending on the situation, sex with a subordinate employee is definitely a no no under a lot of employment contracts.
And even if not, when she wants to stop and you pressure her, it’s a sexual harassment suit waiting to happen and you are terminated.

Didn't he say substance abuse and alcohol was a factor? That kind of suggests it was a few isolated incidents, as opposed to an ongoing manipulation type scenario. I'm obviously just speculating though. Lots of abusers fall back on the alcohol excuse. It could also be a scenario where he was making repeated late night calls.

Not sure why there has to be a salicous angle. Someone creating an iMessage conversation gets more credibility than anything else, and others and media outlets pick up on it as gospel? Sounds like Perry had a bad night or two drinking, said or did something inappropriate. The Hawks, now ultra sensitive, didn't waste any time.
Montgomery got fired 4 years ago as Stars coach for the same unprofessional conduct, and, as it seems Perry's thing was, it was over booze...but not nearly the dwelling on it by media or rumor mongering that people feel they have to engage or perpeuate.

That is manipulation that should get anyone kicked out of the league.
I don't know if that is what happened. I just made it up. The point is that manipulation can happen without an assault.
