A must lose game to get better chance on the top picks. Zara has 3 points, Huberdoll 2 points, 5-3 Senators

Zero on both.

It's all confidence, and perhaps the off ice stuff.
People just massively underestimate just how much confidence plays a role in NHL success. Dube has been an every-day player for four seasons, and this is the first time he has shown signs of real struggle. I am quite sure he will get over it, but it might take the entire year.

I don't think anyone is suggesting he's going to lead his team(s) in points and/or drag them through long playoff runs, but he's good enough to be in the NHL. Whatever is going on this year is not the normal Dube. If provided the correct path to redemption he'll be a valuable middle 6 on most teams and can be a contributor to a contender.

It seems like, at least to Staios, they feel like they don't have enough veteran leadership on the roster to support the kids. I agree with you though, they've done well in the last while in terms of picks and even contracts, but for whatever reason, it's not coming together.

Re: Dube, I agree with those who feel that his issues aren't effort related. To me, he's working hard out there, but something is just not going right for him. It's a real statement to scratch him and keep Dueher in when Dueher wasn't even good at all last game.

I can't recall who said it but some analyst made a good point that they need to change their style to be more defensive and used Talbot as an example. Last year he struggled in Ottawa on a team many thought would take a step. Now this year on a stingy Kings team he is one of the best goaltenders in the league. He said the way they have been playing isn't going to lead to success.

Rumours are that teams are also calling the Sens about Chychrun, so maybe there's something there about how they play defensively... Hanifin, I wonder?

Prediction for tonight: Brady Tkachuk runs wild over the Flames.

Last game was a big punch in the nards. I’ll keep watching for entertainment purposes. But more interested in the upcoming roster changes and watching more of the wranglers get opportunities.

One thing Huska does well is reward players who are playing well with ice time.

Ruzicka, Dube, Duehr, Oesterle are probably on a healthy scratch rotation

The guy that's been giving me fits lately has been Raz ^^^ not because of Pride Tape, but because I think his play has become a bit lazy and sloppy of late. Too much pitch and catch, too few shots, too slow on the PP at the blue line and he's let too many pucks by him on that blueline corner as well. Needs a wakeup call, but remains an attractive trade chip IMO.

I've always been a Raz fan (even when it felt like 80% of this forum was done with him a few seasons ago when he had 1 bad year), and I hope he stays a Flame for life. I think he's a fantastic 2-way dman and will still get better. He also brings that swagger and trash talk element that not everyone has.

The Sens have made the Flames their Bitch for something like 3 seasons. Expecting an 'L' on this one.

Interested to see Kuznetsov. Think he’s a steady stay at home dman.

I am willing to bet you’ll be able to use a previous Ottawa game report. They got our number.

All excellent points...and then he goes and has a few games with little but brain farts to show for it (like Chicago). It happens too often for my liking. When he's on, he's ON. But when he isn't....he is just...lost.

Very much a Tanev lite.

Maybe a bit more physical but not as reckless with his body in terms of shot blocking.

Tanev isn't scared of any single thing on this planet lol, guy is willing to give it all to win a game.
