That's out of nowhere. Drysdale had just come back from injury and was looking pretty solid. I guess he does have injury concerns now. Maybe Gauthier stated he would only sign in California and forced a trade?
Edit: Cutter Gauthier also looks and has the name of the villain in a 1980s teen sports movie.

Why does the threat title say Sanderson? I was trying to figure this out. I think Drysdale's injury troubles were a problem for the Ducks, and between Mintyukov, Zellweger, and Luneau, they already had a loaded blueline pipeline.

Gauthier didn't want to play in philly. Not often you hear of a player turning down that franchise. Torts maybe the reason?

If you're the Ducks, you have to be Hella confident Gauthier is going to sign with you because that's a hefty price to pay. Injuries et al, Drysdale is a top pairing D man or on his way to be one.
I like this for Philly. They got a pick put of it too.

The Flyers are a loser organization. They've wandered in mediocrity for an eternity with a once every decade underdog playoff run.
...this stuff matters.
(also, Philly doesn't seem like a "pretty" city...so I definitely can't blame the kid)

Very cool to see a prospect for young player trade like this. Briere has been able to make moves since he took over that is quite a few trades already.
