Great news! Probably just practices for the next week or so before drawing in to a game though.

That's great, I can't wait to see Pelletier with Coronato, first in the AHL, then in the NHL.

Hopefully, Poirier is not that far behind on his recovery.

Pelletier Zary Coronato

Give me this line asap! (and lock it in for at least 10 games, not 10 mins of one period)

3 rookies on 1 line? Ya, no.

To be fair, Pelletier is very responsible defensively and doesn't tend to get caved in like most rookies.

Zary has been great but still has some trouble defensively and Coronato needs to most work of the three (also the youngest).

I'm not saying it would be a surefire disaster but it might just work if Zary takes another step.

I'd rather see the rookies properly mentored by players like Kadri, Coleman, and Backlund and play up and down the lineup. The Flames have tried the all rookie bottom six lines before, and it always just ends up in pissed off players with stifled development (see Sam Bennett).

Eventually they need to get Zary slotted at Center. But yeah, they can easily use 3 or 4 vets to tutor all the youth.

Hoping all these trades we all want happen and it brings in a bunch of fresh meat for the organization to chew on.

I think that happens once Lindholm is traded.

Depending on the returns in the UFA trades and health… I could see something like this post-TDL:

Coronato-Backlund-Coleman
Pelletier-Kadri-Posposil
Huberdeau-Zary-Sharangovich
Mangiapane-Dube-Greer

Weegar-Kyllington
Andersson-Gilbert
Poirier-Oesterle

I know it splits up some established chemistry but it would put young players mixed with vets on each line. Plus it gives players a chance to test out new lines for next season. And this allows for Zary to start transitioning to center. I think overall Coronato should be a better fit with Zary and Huberdeau but I’m putting him with Backlund and Coleman because their defensive games tend to work well with young guys.

Pelletier has played center before... and is defensively responsible enough to warrant a look there.

Or maybe Sharangovich returns to C where he played some of this year, with Huberdeau on his LW and a trade return or call up the RW and Zary sticks with Kadri as its been working pretty well

Regardless, things are going to look different/weird in about 8 weeks

Wasn't Zary playing wing in the AHL this season too? I'm not so sure he gets moved to C
