Uhh no, wrong. The puck is on the ice and he’s going to go for that shot every single time like 100% of the other players in the league. There is literally nothing he can do there other than pull his stick away and let the puck go past him which of course would be stupid.

If there's nothing else he can do, it still doesn't take away the fact that what he did was illegal and the goal shouldn't count.
