So the 'Hawks have $35.5M in salaries on IR and only about $29M on the active roster. There are guys I never even heard of that were playing in NJ, the other night, and our major reinforcement is a guy acquired for a 6th and 7th round pick, which doesn't scream "impact player". Rem Pitlick.

So, now with a squad of Icehogs, your Flames will see a talentless bunch of grinders that work hard, have stone hands, and give up a TON of opportunities against, due to blown defensive assignments. Our top line, the other night, was youngsters, Kurashev and Reichel, along with a bottom line plumber, Entwistle. I expect Donato and Guttman to to also get turns on the wing. Aside from Kurashev/Reichel, our only other scoring threat is Jason Dickinson, who is having a career year, mainly, due to having PP opportunities.

Defensively, overrated pylon, Connor Murphy, will get caught up ice leaving inexperienced guys like, Korchinski, Vlasic, and Crevier foundering in front of the net, to cover. Journeymen Tinordi and Zaitzev engender no confidence, and some dude named Megna, who I had never even heard of spoken as a prospect, got a lot of ice time, when one of the others took a major.

The only hope I have of stealing points from your guys is if one of our goalies, probably Mrazek, today, activates "God Mode" and stands on his head for the 45 to 60 shots that we will give up today. Him and Soderblom often have two stellar periods before being taken down by exhaustion in the 3rd. Our last two wins, against the Jets and the Avs were, definitely, goalie stolen wins, by this duo.

I'll be hanging in the GT to start with, although, the Bears may need my psychic energy to eliminate the Packers from the playoffs later. Usual stuff for a Chicago Cubs, Bears, and 'Hawks fan from the 60's to 2000, nothing to cheer for, except as spoilers. I almost feel young, again.

Best of luck to your guys, and I hope they don't catch my guys injury karma!

I agree it can't hurt (assuming he has any trade value), but a win against the existing Chicago team won't be moving any needle on his trade value vs. his career body of worth.

Sometimes this: "...bunch of grinders that work hard, have stone hands, and give up a TON of opportunities against, due to blown defensive assignments", also describes the Flames. If Mrazek plays well, and the bad (or travel-tired) Flames show up, the game could go to a 0-0 shoot-out.

It doesn’t matter what side of the tank wagon you are on, anything less than a win this afternoon will be incredibly embarrassing

For me, it is wondering who will be sold off, anf for what assets, at the deadline. Of course, it would be better if trade pieces weren't on IR!
