A *LOT* of people have stuff happen in their lives and are not able to take on specific tasks/learnings when many others are doing so. Could be physical health, finances, family situations, mental health, etc... You get to it when you get to it; everyone on their own time. Comparison is the thief of happiness. Don't judge others whom you know nothing about.

As for driving... I know several people that should not drive (ever) and still do; I know some that have never driven; I know some that started driving and gave it up for life soon thereafter. There are also places in this world where driving isn't even necessary as the public transit is so amazing (and/or they also have bikes).
Anyways... thanks for sharing. It's ok to get p*ssed off at oneself every now and then. Huge kudo's for being strong to seek help and to share with others here.

I think the other thing to keep in mind is...a lot of this is not a big deal.

You want to drive? I assume you take Public Transportation?

When you look out the window at the people driving I'm sure you've seen some asshats do something startlingly and amazingly stupid.

You could easily be better than that. You can do it. You can be better than that.

Its like a lot of things in life. People will tell you that you can't do it. You'll never understand it, its beyond you, you're incapable, you'll never be able to...*insert thing here*

Thats CRAP. If this forum didnt have a swear filter my language would be stronger.

Nonsense.

Let it roll off of your psyche like water off a Duck's back. You'll get around to it when you're ready.

I've been around a fairly large number of "well educated" people... they're amongst the worst at common sense things. Often the least practical. Whether it's driving a car... or shopping cart. Or stopping a squeaky hinge, or leaky toilet, or even putting the right car fluid into the right opening. sigh...

Hell....I'm one of them!

Sure, I'm a fine driver and I own and operate my own business!

I've installed sinks (mostly not very well) and replaced more toilets than I care to think about.

But when it comes to real, gritty repairs and such? I am not your man.

I have always maintained that my specialty and expertise in automotive and home maintenance is that I can rig crap to make things work.

Until someone who actually knows what they're doing can get there to fix it properly.

My policy is simple. I have to least try first.

If I try and I fail. Fine. We'll call a guy. But I have to fail first.

Here’s some more:
My son-in-law was 27 before he bothered with a driver’s licence.
When I was 32 I lost my licence and had to unlearn several bad habits to get it back, I was a “professional “ driver at the time.

Kudos to the guy who just hung the Cabo real estate flyer on my front door. Probably holding these things since November waiting for the ‘right’ weather day to hand them out. Must feel good!

Don’t think I needed to see that much camel toe from the gym class instructor today. And I was only stretching (post workout) right next to the group class, not even in the class having to avoid “eye contact”. That said she’s a nice well spoken good instructor. Sometimes just gotta say No to the Toe.
Do most women know to check for this or just dgaf? Is there a polite or appropriate way of saying “hey hmmm your tights are scared of heights or the light”? I’m certain some of y’all have more appropriate expressions… bring ‘em on.

Are you suggesting that any and all toe is good toe? Or do you figure there’s some sliding scale?

Careful, if Locke’s spice tolerance is any indication of his tastes elsewhere, a blank wall is ripe for ogling and probably more than enough titillation.

Well yes of course that’s always true for everyone everywhere all of the time. Can’t un-see some things.

Mind you I *could* go as Richard Simmons too and DGAF about what people say or react and that’s my right too… even if it’s short shorts and moose knuckles.

It seems like the easiest way to avoid being unable to un-see something is to not look at it in the first place?

We’re all sexual beings and attraction exists and all that, but there’s a certain point where it is a little pervy or at least a lot weird, and I think ogling someone’s crotch to the point where you feel you should comment on it… at the gym… probably edges too far toward that point.

Strip club? Go wild. Literally any other situation in public where strangers are involved in completely non-sexual activities? Then the answer to how you should comment on how a stranger’s clothes are hugging their genitals is “don’t.”
