Macleod is worth way more than a 3rd
I would prefer a 1st over him but other than that McLeod all the way.

Not a knock on anyone, but what's the point of scouts showing up for one game to check out a particular player? I can understand not seeing a junior player in person and trying to catch some glimpses of him when not all games are televised, but when a particular guy is an NHL pro, what's seeing him for one game in person going to do? You have loads of televised tapes to review, what's one game in person influencing your decision to trade or not trade for him?

Intentionally spelled that incorrectly because Pepsi loves correcting people. So I was giving him one.

Because on tv the cameras focus on the action. At a game, you can focus ont he player - what does he do when he's out of the play? hOw does he interact with his teammates? What does he look like on the bench - is he engrossed in the game, or just kind of chilling?

Saw some discussion around this package on HF and apparently the cap works. I think the Avs need to add
To Avs: Lindholm+Hanifin+Tanev (all 50% retained)
To Flames: Byram, Ritchie, Johansen+1st.
I think a 2nd at least and probably another prospect preferably a D would be coming back. Flames probably do much better dealing them separately but I am having a hard time seeing Byram attainable with Lindy alone.

That's not enough for all three of those at 50%
Hanifin is worth 1st + 2nd + 2nd + recent 1st.
Lindholm is worth good prospect + 1st
Tanev worth 1st + 5th or 2nd + good prospect.

I am not sure Hanifin’s value is that high or Tanev to be honest. I think both Hanifin and Lindholm are worth a 1st+good prospect and Tanev is worth a 2nd+prospect.
If Byram were available is he worth a 1st+2nd? I am just not sure a 22 year old former 4th overall with injury issues. His value is where I am stuck. Ritchie is a recent 1st and the 1st this year. Johansen is a cap dump but someone the Flames could try with Huberdeau and flip as a rental next year. Also getting a 2nd and another prospect I think the value is close but it all comes down to what the opinion on Byram is.

I think Hampus Lindholm is the best example of Hanifin's value on the trade market, and he returned a 1st + 2nd + 2nd + somewhat recent 1st. Lindholm was 28 at the time of that trade, Hanifin is 26. I think that is the market value.
It seems like a lot...but really, it's the only true market comparable.

Avs on their way to getting destroyed by the Panthers.
Avs scouted the Flames today.
...Hey Avs, acquire Lindholm already, would ya?

A move for what? Seriously, I can't think of any other D man on the market of Hanifin's calibre.

They need to add a hell of a lot more. Byram getting overrated.

Yeah there's no one close.
Hanifin is near-perfect for the Devils. With his age, he comes in as a long-term addition to an already young and talented team. He'd be a great add for them.

Weren't there rumours of Hanafin wanting to sign in Boston?
That was a big part of Boston paying a high price for Lindholm, knowing they would be able to sign him long term.

Avs goaltending is also very suspect.
