Flyers bring 4-game losing streak into matchup with the Flames

BOTTOM LINE: The Philadelphia Flyers aim to end their four-game skid when they take on the Calgary Flames.

2024 has gotten off to a fun start and with so many games in such a short stretch I hope the boys can stack some points up to climb the standings while the roster is whole. I think they're in tough, but if they can manage to get a W, they are absolutely back in the playoff race. The perfect day would see NSH and EDM lose, with a Flames win, and that would leave them a half game out of the FIRST wild card spot (in baseball terms).

Coleman is just an excellent hockey player. I realize that they pay a premium for him but looking back, he was one of Treliving's best signings. The consistency and professionalism that he brought coming from a championship winning franchise is remarkable.

I'm excited for the game today. Against the odds and, in spite of the terrible start, the Flames have established their game. They are competitive and resilient and I enjoy watching them. It seems like they finally found line combinations that work.

I'll be watching Huberdeau closely today. He seemed like he was turning a corner and then went pointless last game, so I hope he can get back on the scoresheet and really have a second half of the season that shows he can still play at a high level. It took a long, long time but he finally had a run of games where he looked like a very dangerous set up man. Imagine what a development it would be if he could be the player they were hoping for a couple years here?
