Ya I ain’t too worried about that. Jacob Chychrun turned his back on the USA and he was willing to play in Arizona.

Choosing US Hockey over Hockey Canada shows a lack of intelligence and character in my view. I have no respect for US Hockey and wouldn't want someone showing that level of poor judgment on my team.

Yeah, Hockey Canada is a real high-water mark for intelligence, character and morals. LOL.

The list of goalies who've consistently acted as starting goalies for multiple years is pretty slim. Even Vasilevskiy and Shesterkin aren't playing all that great this year. The stability Markstrom brings is highly sought after.

A reliably average to above average goalie can win a talented roster a lot of games.

Add Lindholm to the mix, exactly the sort of player NJ needs to lock open a massive window with Hughes and Hischier already in the fold, and yes, it’s worth Nemec.

Lot of noise around Hanifin right now and am getting intel that NJ has been granted permission to talk to Pat Brisson about an extension, not sure if that would be the Flames sign and trade or the Devils will extend him right after trade. I am also hearing the potential return being a 1st and Holtz. Flames are pushing for Mercer instead.

Also have heard that both the Flames and Markstrom have no intentions on looking at dealing him. Markstrom wants to stay in Calgary so even if Conroy got a great offer he won't move. Vladar will be the goalie that moves if one does.

I think I'd prefer Mercer too. I think.

I’d 100% be on the Holtz train rather than Mercer.

I liked Holtz a lot in his draft year. If we can get a 21 year old like him, and a 1st for Hanifin? Conroy will have done well.

Holtz, Sharangovich, Coronato...that'd be a nice group of younger shooters.

That return is fantastic, with either Holtz or Mercer. If NJ wants to keep shipping us solid young players for our vets, the Flames should be all over that.

Can Mercer still play C as his secondary position? I can see why we’d go for him. I personally prefer Holtz but I’m fine with either guy. A 1st would be nice too.

You might want to have a look at the development models Bud. Hockey Canada is an an archaic dinosaur, and the lower levels of bureaucracy (province, city, community) are even worse.

Jake Sanderson chose the USNDP over Hockey Canada and he grew up in a one of the top hockey development markets in the country. Hard to blame him. Competency vs. Incompetency.

Thing is we need the center more.

I like Holtz...but really we have a lot of wingers in the organization.

Mercer would be the more valuable and preferred player at this time for sure IMO.

Not like Holtz is that much younger, only 3 months.

I don't disagree, wing is the least important position...but I certainly wouldn't be upset to see Holtz and a 1st as a return, and I've just got a personal bias towards Holtz due to highlight watching back in his draft year.
