They also have the single best website to shop from, bar none. Near real-time updates on stock availability, and it tells you exactly where to find an item at any given location.

I love checking the aisle and bin number on the website. There's been a few times where I go and it's not there, then I realize I've selected the wrong store and it refreshes to the correct one.
Weird system to have different ways of labeling and organizing the inventory for franchises and independents, but an awesome feature to have.
They also have actual interesting clearance stuff too. I always have to think twice before walking past it because it's actually cheaper than most places online by a solid margin... and maybe it might not be bad to grab it in case I need it. Feels like fricken Steam sale but actual items.
I bought brand new snowshoes for $30 a pair down from $99 and now it's El Nino winter! Gel ass cushion for $5 from $25. Back scratchers for $1, telescopic butterfly net for $3. And no, this <$10 is actually good stuff, not Dollarama quality stuff for a similar price (and CT is selling similar products for cheaper when on clearance). Oh, and some toys are cheaper and have availability at CT than other places, including Amazon.

I know, and I asked if the mild cheddar cheese would be too spicy for you, 'member? We all had a good chuckle at your pillowy soft taste buds. You could name them the Tenderness.

But, it's proabably my favourite collection of junk ever assembled in one store. It's a toy store. Automotive toys, home improvement toys, kids toys, sports toys, camping toys, kitchen toys, garden toys. Something about all that in the same place while not being a gargantuan hive of villainy and scum (like Walmart) makes it one of the only B&M stores I actually enjoy going to...until I have to check out or need any staff assistance.
London Drugs is in a similar vein with different offerings and a better overall service vibe.

Oh....I worked at ye Ol' Crappy Tire for a few years. Macleod and Southland.
The stories...my God the stories.
Sure, maybe things have changed at the store...but you know what probably hasnt changed much? The people that come into it.
Especially working in Auto Parts.
Working in Auto Parts at Canadian Tire is essentially the worst job in the world. Other than Greyhound.
The very, very little that most people know about their cars is bad enough. That those cars are broken is worse. That they're coming to Canadian Tire to do a DIY fix-it job is the WORST.
Every. Single. Person.
Every one of them that walks into Canadian Tire Auto Parts shows up at what we call "Level 10 Pissed" because their goddamned Car is broken.
And they're going to fix it themselves.

I'll have you know that they are not 'pillowy soft' they are simply 'discerning!'
And now I'm turning away indignantly!

I have to call you out on this. Here you are trying to say you have discerning taste and yet you're a Liverpool fan?

I dropped my passport application off at the High Commission and it was delivered to my home in under two weeks.
Canadian consular services are first class.

Yup when I lived in Abu Dhabi I had a new passport within days. It's nice that we take care of our non-tax-paying expats abroad.
