BUT you laughed, so you found some amusement in it.
We'll stop being jerks when the "I just like exciting hockey" guys own up to their fandoms.
If you tell the board you're first and foremost a Canucks or Oilers fan and don't try to conceal it (when you only participate in Canucks or Oilers threads when they're doing well, which is blatantly obvious) and don't try to put up this facade of Flames fandom or claim to have a different posting history than you do, then sure we'll still rib you for it, but it will be much more tolerable than for those who try to evade exposure and get offended because regular users see and point out the obvious.

They can only beat the teams that they have in front of them, which they have done to date. However, their February and end of March early April are not easy schedules.

Being an outlier,
of this forum
and in life.
I happen to love hockey.
and it so happens
that my 2 favorite teams
Are the Canucks
And Calgary Flames
Get over it
If you have objections
I don’t have
Or ever had
a friend
that watches, plays or discusses hockey.
Grateful for CP
and a sense of a hockey community
Even though I’m not part of it
I am most often ridiculed
when i express my interest
I’m alone
In this love,
though very appreciative
Of this beautiful game.
Thank you CP

Adding Guentzel would make the Canucks a contender for sure. All the guy does is put up points. Canucks have caught lightning in a bottle this season, so I think should just go for it. These seasons don't happen often...

lol what a season.
canucks in the running for the presidents trophy, oilers the hottest team in the league after looking like they were toast, flames trending for a 10th-15th overall draft pick

The team that people keep talking about around here is the Canes team that won the cup coming out of the lock out.
Team management saw everything was going right for them in a year where no one team was a clear favourite so they said #### it and went out and got Recchi and Weight at the deadline. Rode a hot goaltender through the play-offs, won the cup and then resumed mediocrity the following year.
The GM of that team was ofcourse Jim Rutherford, so the idea of the team loading up for a run a few years sooner than they expected before going back to their original speed next year isn't out of the cards.

V=GN (good now) for now... I'm happy for them as long as their success is with the skate jersey only and not the stupid whale from their cocky 2000s phase.

All those teams can lose in round one...then overpay or lose star players, Jets can lose their franchise
WTF guys
Vegas or Colorado for another cup please, maybe the Kings
would result in a lot less bragging around here

I'm trying
Canucks have sucked for so long people start to get sympathetic...the second they have any real success the cockyness and bragging with return
People felt sorry for the Oilers and their fans before McDrai...
now look what we have, the biggest dbag fanbase in the league after the Leafs...and its not just Flames fans who think so its scientific fact

Yup.
V=NG.
Still.
As predictable as the riot that ensues after a finals run.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.
