Montreal: 99.89%
Vancouver: 99.42%

these numbers are kinda *
We are counting the press level in Calgary but other teams are over 100%
Montreal has the highest average attendance in the league by a mile but are down the list because they didn't sell 50 tickets or something lol
Yikes for the Jets though

Yeah I wasn't certain how accurate these numbers are given no source was provided. But I figure they can't be that far off...

This team is at ~90% ticket sales??
I'd take that and run.

And arizona way up the list with their minor hockey arena.
Looks like the league is doing well though. So that’s good to see

Have to hand it to Vegas, the shove 700+ people in the Hyde Lounge at about $500 a pop for every game.

Flames attendance issues are pretty minor in the big picture compared to Winnipeg. Not a good look for a Canadian market to be attracting less than 13k a game.

It’s okay, it’s LTCR (Long term capacity reserve), you can go over it as long as you get back under it… eventually

This is why I just can't see Quebec City getting an NHL team any time soon.

Winnipeg will lose their team on that trajectory and this time forever. City gotta step up if they want them around.

Yeah, that’s crazy. They have one of the most competitive teams in the league and getting that few people. Imagine if they had a bad team.

It's a shame for Winnipeg, but the Jets are actually good again. Unfortunately, the canadian middle class is getting ####ing pulverized and no one has extra money to go watch hockey games. Winnipeg needs more population to cover this spread.
The numbers are kinda BS anyways, as Dino mentioned. We are "punished" for having one of the largest rinks by seating capacity in the league. Raw attendence wise, I reckon we are around mid league.
I would be way more interested in seeing attendence broken down against Metro Population. That is a way, way more telling indicator of how the team is faring in market.

Quebec City would sell out without almost a shadow of a doubt.
I don't think many people understand just how important hockey is to the culture here in Quebec.

Toronto is 16 tickets short of 100% lol
This is a really weird way to frame it. Arizona sells 4,600 tickets and are a great market? Logic.

e.g.
Winnipeg population = ~841,000. Attendees= 12,566 = 1.49% attendance
vs
Calgary population = ~ 1,640,000 Attendees = 17,356 = 1.06% attendance
vs
Philadelphia population = ~ 5,821,000 attendees = 17,971 = 0.3% attendance
The Canadian markets are still dominating in terms of actual percentage of population attending and paying to watch games, they just have less people to tap into. This also makes it extremely difficult to envision Winnipeg for e.g. improving their situation substantially without the average Canadian suddenly becoming much more wealthy. You can tell the canadian economy is hurting as Montreal and Toronto aren't at or above 100%. No non-rich people can attend games anymore.
Anyways though, list is BS when teams like Arizona are ranked near the top. What a joke. I am not even sure what this list is meant to display. If it is about financial health of each franchise, wouldn't the terms of their loan (and asset depreciation if they own the buildings) need to be considered? e.g. not filling the saddledome has a much different impact than not filling rogers place. It doesn't really make sense to show the info this way unless you want to paint a dumb picture about southern NHL markets.

I’m not sure anyone framed it that way, it was just sorted by %.
Sorting it by attendance doesn’t change a ton for Calgary. Still bottom third.

Quebec produces only half as many NHLers per capita as does Manitoba. Or Saskatchewan. Or Alberta. Or Ontario. Or even British Columbia.
I used to live in Quebec City - it's fallen a long way. The QMJHL is now more comparable to the USHL than it is with the OHL and WHL.
Quebec is also a poor province to begin with. They don't have a ton of extra income. They would sell out at first, but it wouldn't last.

Then why didn't they when they had a team? They didn't struggle for ticket sales, but they never sold out (mind you their arena only held 15700 or so).
