LOL it was one fluke season. We saw what happened in the play-offs and the following season that was not a team built for success, it was not a team that was a goalie away from competing.
They didn't lose because of bounce, injuries they lost because their team wasn't good enough.
And now it looks like we get stuck with Markstrom with nothing close to success. Giving him a NMC made no sense at the time and even less sense now.

You like truth a lot ... no truth in that season being a fluke.
Great team, won a division, finished 6th overall, won a playoff series.

if those stats meant anything maybe you would have a point, lost to a weak team in the 2nd round shows everything you need to know about the lack of quality of that team. The performance in the seasons after show it was not close at all to competing.

They mean very clear things.
They mean the team on average had more shot attempts, scoring chances and expected goals than their opposition.
They're simple counting measures.
They are the most factual thing in this discussion.

No actual results on the ice are the most factual things in the thread. The stats you posted have not shown any correlation to actual success. We have seen that with all those supposed great stats the team accomplished nothing.
Having fancy stats doesn't not trump actual winning.
Oh no I know what a liar is but it was clear that we are not allowed to point it out here so have respected the rules of the site.
I am all good with truth as well, maybe you can work with people starting with yourself that truth isn't just whatever fits your biased narrative. It is ok to say the Flames aren't super duper awesome every time and that they make mistakes when the truth clearly shows that.

Which is why people have mentioned winning a division and finishing 6th overall.
I get liking to argue.
I get the motivation to look smart on a website.
I don't get the need to continue on an argument when you're getting zamboni'd on a regular basis.

I point out the Flames flaws all the time.
I put how little chance they have to make the playoffs in most game stories.
I can see both good and bad.
I'm not here to just cause chaos and be a knob.
And stating recorded stats isn't a bias. It's literally posting facts.

I am fine if you want to stop, I wouldn't say you are getting zamboni'd though you are just struggling to get past your bias and unable to admit the Flames messed up. It is understandable and you shouldn't feel too bad about it, you still have time to learn from it.

You know nobody buys this crap right?
The Flames had a solid team that year. All the underlying numbers supported their place in the standings.
You don't need a bias to simply look up the standings, and then peruse some other stats to see if it was a fluke.
"I know you are but what am I" works really well as a tactic in a one on one conversation in grade 3. Fails miserably with other witnesses though.

Do I know that there are many Flames fans that aren't willing to admit the team makes mistakes? Can't handle criticism of the team? Of course that is clear as can be coming here everyday.
There is no I know you are, but what am I here, just pointing out the fact that although you are trying your best you can't keep up because you are fighting a losing battle. I was trying to help you out by pointing out that you were being harsh with the comment about you getting Zamboni'd you just have no chance because you are fighting against what actually happened.

Dude, you need to remove the word fact from your vocabulary until you actually learn what the hell it means.

Apparently you have to already be a highly successful team in order to make moves to take the next step.
And that if you happen to choke in the playoffs the season you just had was a fluke. So I guess Boston was a fluke last year and the year Tampa choked against Columbus that was a fluke year for them too.

Tampa Bay won Cups around that season, Boston will show us this year if they were ready to compete or just a good regular season team. That Bruins team was also built around players that had won a Cup before showing that they can have success.

The Flames had players that won the Cup too.
They had a good team that happened to go in a slump at the worst time. It happens. Then things all went sideways after their two best players bailed on them.
Treliving made mistakes. Signing Markstrom and giving him a NMC wasn't one of them.
