I think the call of tripping was wrong. It was holding on 89, not tripping. 89 and the Lions guy that stuck his leg out were first to react to the penalty. The Lions guy stuck out his leg after being held to sell the hold.
10 yard holding call vs 15 yard tripping call, not sure if that matters. McCarthy throwing the ball deep for an incompletion also made the sequence at the end possible.

I think they should be playing Ben Van Sumeren at LB. Yeah, he's an undrafted rookie but he looked okay last week and he can't be any worse than this version of Leonard.

If they had called the hold too, it would have been offsetting with a first and 10 instead of first and 25. That is still a massive difference.

Bucs just need a W to seal the South at home, instead the offence is getting shut out against a mid team missing their #1 all-star CB. This division, man...
Luckily for them, they're playing another NFC South team, so it isn't over yet

Offsetting with what?
Only penalty on the play was on 89 for a hold, not a trip. Meaning 1st and 20, not 1st and 25.
The leg stick out by the Lions player wasn't a trip, or did it trip anyone, it was a sell job on the hold.
