There’s an Abbey’s Ice Cream going next to jinya in mission. Says opening soon.

I’m excited for Brooklyn Dumpling Shop opening on 17th Ave SW. The food looks good but I’m more hyped up for its automat format. I’ve always thought they were cool and wished they’d make a comeback.

Probably March/April.

Nothing says dumplings like smash burgers.

Also they're opening one up in Inglewood.

I'd love to see the automat become popular again.

Is +39 Pizza Pasta Bar on Centre street the same owners as Cibo and just rebranded or are they new owners/operators? Also noticed that 4.2.4 Bar. Kitchen. Social is closed. Never went in but don't think I was missing anything. Also never went into The Block that was in the same location previously.

For those who tried and enjoyed Odd Burger, should probably go in the coming days before the year is up, before a wait exists...

I can't tell what that means. Is it closing? Expanding?

They’re finally putting meat in the burgers.

2023 is odd, 2024 is clearly even.

This is the kind of marketing I can appreciate. Posting the same cryptic message across multiple threads about how people who already liked your restaurant should go back to your restaurant in the next 1.5 days for some… reason.

It actually sounds oddly foreboding message. Is that their restaurant though? Thought it was someone else’s.

No idea, maybe it’s someone else’s but I just thought it was based on posting the same thing across different threads. Either an owner or someone hitting the veggie patties a little TOO hard.

Flamesrule_kipper34 identified himself as the owner in the thread about that restaurant.

So unless they're somehow related he isn't the owner.

Website says "Temporarily closed until mid-January" which is the "before there is a wait" fortold in the ancient scrolls.

I didn't realize this was a franchise with locations across Canada (mostly Ontario). Looks like they just took out a $500K line of credit in Dec.

The ancient scrolls of Google led me to Yahoo Finance. I guess its +$250K to a total of $500K and it's the franchiser, not the local Calgary franchisee. Maybe the local one is getting renos or something? Or they ran out of Vegans temporarily.

I thought you meant the particular franchisee took out the line of credit not the chain.

They’ve been expanding quickly so hopefully the LOC is to carry them until the franchise fees start rolling in. It’s a great concept so I hope they stick around.
