What’s the appeal with Minten? From what I have seen so far, he just seems like an overhyped Leafs prospect.

I’d love a 1st for Tanev and getting out from Markstrom and actually getting Minten to do so?

Samsonov is a cap dump
1st and Minten for both?? I feel like we could get more.

He’s a prospect, can’t ever have too many of them. Although I suspect you’re probably right about the hype.

Minten is an excellent player- he was a standout in Leafs camp, and made the team. He is 6’2”, has high IQ, shoots well, fairly good skater, and does all the dirty work- good 200ft player (excellent defensively), and is highly competitive. Works hard in the greasy areas, and does well in faceoffs. He will not be a top-line player, but you win with players like him.

I would hope so, but I’m not big on Minten so probably changes my view in the return.

Not sure what’s going on with Samsonov this season, whether it’s him or the D in front of him, but there’s a good goalie there. I would take him in a minute.

What are people's opinion on Siegenthaler in NJ? I noticed that he is on a long term deal that has an NMC kicking in after this season. He only makes $3.4 million a year until 2028 and is 26 years old.
I haven't watched NJ much, but would he be a good piece to get back for an extended Hanifin?

Minten is highly overrated. Had a good Leaf’s camp and now people are high on him. When I have watched Minten play at the World Juniors I see a lot of Mark Jankowski.
That would be a very poor return for both Markstrom and a retained Tanev.

The wizard knows him, probably obsess with him. He is just a little short on money now, be patient and you can rip him off his picks

For 40 games of Tanev and Markstrom at 2.5x$6M with no retention? Seems pretty good to me. What do you think would be a fair return?

Minten has definitely looked poor at the WJRs
Both he and Cowan the leafs prospects haven’t impressed at all… go figure.
I feel like he’s alright but he’s not a top tier prospect by any stretch.
Jankowski seems like a fair comparison at this point, prior to his demise of course.
