Eagles aren’t losing to giants and cardinals.

If they had win out they would be the 2nd seed. Probably doesn’t matter as the Eagles beat them easily at home or the road but you think they would prefer to have that game at home.

But yes that is why Campbell gets away with so many bad gambles because the fans explain it away as not mattering if they lose because they have no expectations.

Even if the Eagles won out if the Lions had won out they get the tie breaker.

No they didn’t need help if they won tonight to get the 2 seed.

But they don't need that, they just need the 49ers to lose.

The best thing is that they keep making a big deal about the Cowboys kicker and he’s going to 8 doink a game winning playoff game for the loss.

They don't believe that is worth playing overtime for.

Meh. Then there's numerous other 4th downs they should play different, and, take chances in OT rather than go from the 7, if they are playing for an advancing up a seed. The aggressiveness at the end is simply is to stay on brand for his team which already has secured what they hoped for the season and take a chance that they can win a home game vs probably the Seahawks or Rams in 2 weeks.

Could it have been an unbalanced line?
Can't say I've seen that in the NFL though...

Edit: 68 is reported as eligible, but there is still 5 guys to his right who are ineligible (linemen), plus the WR on the line to the right. The center is 'offset' towards 68 meaning there is 68 (eligible) --> lineman --> center --> lineman x3 --> WR

I see that now. Don’t matter to me. I liked going for it. Bad play call on the third try there though.

I'm mostly indifferent on going for it, primarily because the Cowboys getting into FG range after that was pretty easy with their kicker. They might only need 25 yards, with two timeouts and 23 seconds. I'd give them an 80% chance of getting the yards that with that bad Detroit secondary, Lamb might get that in one play. So get the two or kick the EP, still a decent chance they lose.

Play call was fine, just a very poor throw by Goff. If he puts that at chest height and a yard further ahead, it's a successful conversion because the TE had enough room to get across the line. But like the interception the drive before, he shorts touch pass out route (and Goff wasn't pressured)

Looked like he would have been tackled short even with a good pass but I’d have to see it again.

It needed to be a perfect pass to lead him into the corner, I think without the momentum to lead him forward the defender gets there to stop him. I definitely don't like throwing to your backup TE when you have LaPorta who just dominated that drive, and St-Brown who is a true #1 guy. Be aggressive and all, but in those situations go to your top guys.

I didn’t watch the game but caught up on highlights. Am I missing something, people here saying it didn’t matter if Detroit won or not? Can they not still attain the #1 seed and first round bye with a win?

I know SF would have to lose to either WSH or LAR and the Eagles would have to lose to either ARI or NYG but absolutley that is possible

I think that the next tie break would be conference records and the Niners have that locked up over the Lions already.

They claimed 70 reported eligible. Which would make it a penalty. He didn’t. They screwed it up. Should have counted. The ref said 70 reported during the game a couple times and I’m guessing assumed it was him.

But the tiebreak wouldn’t matter, if the Lions won out and SF lost one and PHI lost one.

Unless I’m missing something.
