I preferred it earlier this week, when it was halftime at Old Trafford.

If Arsenal want any shot at winning anything this season they need a quality striker in January.

We can play football, pass it around, run in to space, and create chances. But we have no outlet. We rely on scoring by committee. It works well if we score early or don’t fall behind. If we do fall behind, there is no one with the composure to put our chances away. All the final balls are snatched at, making it very easy for opponents to defend.

Yeah, a loss of this nature had been coming for a while. Salvaged points in other matches after struggling to score but finding a way late; it was bound to fail eventually.
A legit striker needed badly.

That goal was a beauty and the least of our issues. Brighton won the hospital bowl though and it’s onto Bournemouth in a couple days. I don’t understand that schedule, but I feel like most clubs feel that way at this point in the season.

January looks grim though. Son heads to play for Korea, Bissouma and Sarr to AFCON and then Romero, Maddison, Bentancur, VDV, Solomon, Perisic, and Sessegnon are injured and I think none are expected back until closer to the end of the month or in February. Pretty clearly Levy needs to spend some money immediately and get some players in to keep this team competitive.

At least the crumbling of our neighbours is starting a little ahead of schedule, so it makes things a little brighter!

Yeah...this is always a clusterfata for the schedule. AFCON never helps. You're losing Son, we're losing Salah, lots of injuries.

Lots of injuries. Why are there lots of injuries? Schedule congestion. What should we do? Play more games.

Expand Europa League. Have Nations' League.

You want to know the honest answer?

You need an Academy. Half of the Liverpool FA/Cariboo/Europa squads are Academy players.

Well we have an academy, but those kids never seem to see meaningful time. Maybe they’re not good enough, maybe that’s coming this weekend (or in the FA Cup next week). You basically need 25-30 players though, and that’s insane.

And if a Spurs manager plays a bunch of kids in a cup, supporters are livid because they don’t want to go out. It’s really a no-win. You can get away with it if you get a draw against a lower league, or that kind of thing but we have Burnley next week, which means full strength (albeit full strength that is largely second or third stringers at this point).

They're never going to be meaningful players unless you give them meaningful time.

Ok, no idea how true this is and it could be just made up. But plenty of people saying that Spurs are negotiating for Gallagher from Chelsea. Maybe he’s not as good as some say, or maybe he’s not worth it. Put all that aside though.

How hilarious would it be for Chelsea to sell their captain to Spurs against Pochettino’s preference? Like Boehly really must have no idea what he’s doing and no understanding of the culture if that’s actually in discussion, right?

as always, I only have one question when watching Antony play:

what a rip-off by Ajax. To think that West Ham got Alvarez AND Kudus for less money ... jfc.

The neck tattoos were a bit of a giveaway. Caveat Emptor.

Antony signing was almost certainly money laundering, ten Hag needs to be investigated.

You'd have been better off signing the Kool-Aid man. At least he'd keep the team hydrated. Thats more than Antony does.

Other than...you know...'allegedly.'

And where the hell did that all come from?

And why are United wearing Newcastle's jersey? Did the Saudis buy ManU?
