Sharks also had to travel between back to backs too.

Yeah, well... the Oilers are in the middle of a 6 game road trip and had to travel all the way from New York to San Jose between games.

That six day long flight is gruelling.

Hopefully the Kings actually show up for their game against them tomorrow. Oilers are ripe for another demoralizing loss that knocks them back down to 27th place.

When you look at their road trip, I can't think of anything more mentally or physically draining.

They had to travel to New York, then to New Jersey, then all the way back to New York. Then after a measly 6 nights back at home, they have to travel to San Jose, then LA, then all the way to Anaheim. Mankind's first trip to Mars may be less grueling. And it's their longest consecutive road trip of the season. The league truly does have it out for the Oilers.

Since being pulled halfway through a game on December 16 after allowing 4 goals on 17 shots, the Bakersfield Condors have not allowed Jack Campbell to play another minute. The backup Rodrigue has made the last 5 starts, putting up excellent numbers. The Oilers broke Campbell so badly he can no longer even function as an AHL goaltender. I smell a buyout this offseason...

Preds got a point tonight, so the Oilers are 6 points out again, lol. They've won 3 games in a row and yet they've only gained 2 points on the current wildcard teams over the last two weeks. Just shows how hard it is to gain ground when you dig yourself such a big hole early in the season.

Edmonton is no good.

It's a great gig, if you can get it.

Having McDavid defies probability though, or so I'm told.

Literally their justification comes down to "because its the oilers"

Interesting logic given how by the numbers they are with every other team..

I’m surprised more players aren’t doing it. Sign in Edmonton for more money than anywhere else. Play poorly. Get bought out. Sign somewhere else for what you’re really worth or relax on the beach with your extra millions. Also if you don’t get bought out, being put LTIR is also possible.

It's not an expensive annual buyout cap hit wise - $1.1M year one, up to 2.6 in year 3 and then back to 1.5. But it would go until 2030.

The Oil have 4 games in hand on the Predators. They win 2 out of 4 and are 2 points back of a wildcard.

Still not great, but they aren't still buried. They are right in the middle of the wildcard race.

Preds win again. Two more points for the Oil to climb.

For sure it’s a tough hill but the games in hand still exist, even take them at .500 and it’s a close battle. Still less than a coin toss to make it,

If you’re a Flames fan you’re doing it wrong. If you’re an Oilers fan, you’re wrong.
