We’ve seen how well Zary and Popisil have done on a line with kadri. Believe it’s time to bring up another player from the wranglers to inject some offense into this lineup.

Biggest target for me is mangiapane. He’s done nothing of note recently apart from taking soft penalties in the offensive zone. Would love to plug in a kid next to lindholm and sharongovich and move 88 down to fourth line or in the press box.

Pettersen might be worth a look to see if we have a player. Let coronato dominate a little bit more in the A before bringing him up after the trade deadline when we will presumably have more room and roster space.

You could make arguments for Pettersen, Jones, Kerrins, Coronato or Schwindt really. I know Jones is an older player, but he’s played well and deserves to be rewarded at some point.

The Flames have a lot of forward prospects who should be solid middle-6 players in the NHL. What they lack is the top-end forward prospects.

I would love to see Ben Jones with Backlund, or in Dube’s place centering the 4th line.

I also wouldn’t mind giving Kerins a one-game tryout at least, just to see what we have.

I would bring up Klapka next to see what he looks like.

I think it was a pretty garnly freak accident, so I don't think we've seen timelines.

I'd like to see Adam Klapka brought up to inject some size and rambunctiousness onto the fourth line.

If Lindholm is ultimately traded then hopefully Zary can play in the middle and we will see Pelletier and Coronato play as well.

He is huge but is he rambunctious? I honestly can't recall from the limited viewings of him.

A January return was the original timetable, was it not?

He was all but assured a roster spot to start the season with the main club (number change and all). Barring a brief stint in the AHL to get back up to speed, I think the big club could use him.

I would say from the AHL games I have watched that he definitely has a presence on the ice. In the preseason he was really mixing it up (which makes sense as he was trying to get noticed).

Prior to this season, Pettersen's numbers were similar to Zary's (i.e., underwhelming) and he's almost PPG in the AHL over the last 21 games. Given his age and contract status, he should probably get a couple games with the big club to see if the AHL stats aren't showing the whole picture and whether he is found-money.

In the Penticton tourney he was noticeably physical. Although that was men vs boys at times.

Not many wrong answers really. Lots of very deserving prospects can be called up - Jones, Pettersen, Coronato, klapka, Kerins, etc. Also there are some prospects that have expiring deals that may warrant a look in the NHL to help Conroy figure things out if need be.

If not Klapka, then my vote goes to Pettersen. He has been in the system for a long time, and has really developed. I think he deserves the call-up. He currently sits 3rd in scoring for the Wranglers as well just behind Coronato (Ben Jones leads the team, and that's a very deserving choice too, though Jones has 22 points, and Klapka who is tied for 6th has 18 points, so not a lot of difference in scoring output, but there are in terms of PPG). Coronato is the only player above a PPG. Kerins has 19 pts in 21 games, while hunt has 18 in 19 games. I obviously am not counting players up in the NHL already.

From a pragmatic standpoint, we can look at the upcoming RFAs and UFAs from the Wranglers (or bubble players that have bounced back and forth already). This is according to capfriendly.

RFAs:
Pettersen
Klapka
Jones
Schwindt
Kuznetsov
Solovyov
Lyle
Wolf
Pelletier

UFAs:
Poolman
Pysk
Dansk
Rooney
Oesterle
Gilbert
Desimone

Obviously we know what Oesterle, Gilbert and Desimone are. Rooney did look much better in the preseason than he did last year, but that's also just preseason. He is still on LTIR though anyway.

Conroy may want to get a look at some of these expiring players to help him figure out if he wants to re-sign some players on this list, and if so, for how much. Small sample sizes are always tricky, but it is nice to see them in the NHL to help see where things are.

My vote is either
Jones - scoring leader and experienced player - aged 24 RFA

Klapka - fills a sandpaper role on the team, great skater - aged 22 RFA
Pettersen - talented and dynamic, looked good in preseason - aged 23 RFA
Kerins - dynamic kid is almost a PPG - aged 21 signed through next season

Wolf will graduate into the NHL full time next season, and then it becomes interesting. Who do they sign? Different topic, but maybe Conroy will want to extend Dansk if Dansk is interested, and they give him a couple of games to see how he does. 6 NHL games, all with Vegas, and rocks a .906SV%. Sergeev is in college and is likely to stay there, Chechelev is playing in a league that I can't get stats on (though I haven't really tried searching for yet) and Yegorov is only 18 and should probably stay where he is. Maybe Dansk is interested in returning, maybe he wants to sign elsewhere with a more questionable NHL tandem, or perhaps he goes to Europe. I am sure the Wranglers will have an easy time signing a good goalie as the Wranglers are playing in an NHL market, and are a top team. Just thought it is a curious situation for them next season, and I wouldn't be surprised if Dansk ends up getting a game or two this season after the Flames (or if the Flames) sell some players. Conroy may want a free look at a potential backup in case of injury for next season on the Flames.

I don't think he's played a game this season. He was a late signing (November) with Podolsk Vityaz (VHL) and is one of five listed goaltenders.

I think the Flames organization has moved on, especially given that a two year audition in the ECHL failed to secure him an entry level contract.

Wasn’t Kerins all but written off as prospect by some? (I may be mistaking him for a different prospect). Nice to see him prospering.

It has been a bit of a rollercoaster. I recall there being some hype at the beginning, but then disappointment when he was sent to the ECHL. Now that he is in the AHL, he seems to be producing at a decent rate, so we are back in hype mode.

Personally, I would like to see Coronato called up again, or Klapka.

He's also now put in a position to succeed. Mitch Love didn't give him that chance. The top six last season was set. He likely could've found a spot on the third line, but Love didn't want to separate Sutter, Rooney, and Bishop as the year rolled on. So Kerins ends up on the fourth line, lugging around Alex Gallant. That's a tough spot to put Kerins in.

He needs top-six minutes and power-play time to show his creativity. Trent Cull even admitted that Kerins pushed his way onto the roster as a regular after being scratched for a bunch of games to start this fall. He's also taking more draws and works well on a line with a two-way forward like Schwindt.

Hopefully, once the next big club callup happens, a corresponding move will see Stromgren or even Ciona get elevated minutes with the Wranglers to see what the organization may have. It's tough to judge them right now.

I'd like to see Connor Murphy called up and given the reigns in net for 5-6 games.
