Default Carpet Installation

Hey CP,

We have a small project we want to finish off in our basement. We have the carpet and the underlay already, but do not have the skills to install carpet on our stairs.

Can anyone recommend someone they have had a good experience with? It would be greatly appreciated.

It may be tough to find someone right now since most of the good installers are booked solid in this city. Would you have them install the floor as well or just the stairs? The small jobs are tough to get anyone worth their salt to come and do for you unless you are willing to pay a bit more.

Friend of mine used Home Depot. Not sure if it was the carpet (berber) or the installer but a few months in it was pretty obvious where the join seams were.

Oh it's most defintely the installer. Home Depot is notorious for horrid installers for everything. I would use the Home Depot as an absolute last resort for any tradesman.

the Carpet Bargain Center in the NE wasn't the greatest. Terrific price on the carpet, the installer was very sloppy.
