Sylar never got Claires regenerative powers, so he is either dead or badly wounded. As for who could drag his body into the sewer without anyone noticing, there is one character who has that ability. Possibly the same person Molly was refering to - she can't see him, unless he see's her as well

Peter and Nathan will be back, there is no way they let him blow up and kill them off the series; they're far too important. Even in the alternate future, Peter is a bitter, battle-worn man dating Nikki - that storyline assumed he survived as well.
I would so mark out right now for Marty McFly to show up and help Hiro get back home!! haha...

I to think Peter will be back. Claires powers ensure that. Nathan is another story.
As for the Samuri part.. Big deal and eclipse happens just before a fight.. yipee lol Sure hope they go somewhere good with that.
Sylar not being dead does not really close much off though.. Bomb portion is closed but Sylar can still explode if he wants to.
whats up with the Old guy that Peter was taking care of.. what is his story.. The dream sequence was close to the ones Suresh was having early in the show.. it was kind of interesting..
still i was expecting a bit more.. I still liked it though. cant wait for next year.

Anyone think Mrs. Petrelli could be the "worst then Sylar" character? She knew about the bomb from the beginning, as evident from the Peter flashback/warpback.
It may be a little cliche that Peter is the good son and Nathan the bad son, and combined they overthrew their mothers attempt to destroy NY.

What a terribly dissapointing finale. That show was really good every single week until the season finale. I just can't beleive how bad that was. There were TONS of holes in that episode.
As some other people have already asked:
1. Why didn't Peter just fly away?
2. Why didn't they shoot Peter to stop him from exploding since he can regenerate anyways? (Unless that wouldn't stop him from exploding)
3. How does Sylar stop bullets from Parkmans gun yet he allows a fat little Japanese dude to casually walk up to him and stab in in the gut?
There were a few other things that didn't make sense. Overall I was thoroughly dissapointed in last night's show. They didn't even finish it with a real cliffhanger that made you really anticipate next season.

Considering that he already lost control over one power completely it seems logical that he couldn't control his other powers either.

To enable a more dramatic demonstration of Nathan's transformation from villain to hero?

Nikki must have broken his mojo with the parking meter.

my theory on Hiro Stabbing Sylar.. When Sylar and Ando in the loft Hiro was able to rescue him from Slyar.. Ando stated back in Japan that Hiro was Faster than Slyar and that was a big moment for Hiro.
So. Could he have simply stabbed Syler becaue he was "Faster". I think the Ando resuce scene set up that sequence..
Just my thoughts.

Definitely a weak finale. I was pretty disappointed.
I was expecting a big fight between Sylar/Peter and Hiro. Something like that fight between them in the future episode. It would have been cool if everytime Sylar used a power on Peter, Peter absorbed it and used the same power back on Sylar. Then Hiro appeared and Peter used his telekentic powers to impale Sylar on Hiro's sword. That's kind of what I had envisioned in my head. Instead I get Sylar chokes Peter, Hiro appears, runs and stabs Sylar. Peter didn't even do anything aside from a few punches. Pretty lame in my books....

Like the big showdown in Five Years Gone when we saw the light shining through the doorway? Go to the theater for bloated CGI crapfests.

It doesn't have to be CGI heavy to be cool. The episode in the future was an example of that; it was a thousand times better than what I say last night. I don't expect big special effects every episode. But when its the season finale, and the lack of CGI effects the story in a negative way, then I have a problem with it.
A whole season of build-up, which was brilliantly done, leads to a choke-hold, a couple of punches, and a stabbing. Brilliant....

It honestly reminded me of DS9 when they pretty much admitted they were running low on money one season after blowing all their money earlier on (Season 5 or 6?) and had to "make do" with what they could afford. "Quick! How can we end this with $50,000 in CGI budget left?! Masi Oka - hey you were with ILM right? How about a side gig?"
I was expecting a bit of a running battle vs the Mortal Kombat static showdown betwen Peter and Sylar which didn't have to be so expensive. While the past 3 episodes were so well written, this just had the feeling of something being hastily thrown together.
(I'll still watch next season of course)

I assume Sylar didn't think he had the need to stop Hiro. I mean, Hiro choked the first time, and Sylar wouldn't have expected Hiro to be a) sword-trained suddenly and b) have the killer instinct to go through with it. So to see Hiro suddenly thrust a sword with such confidence and accuracy was pretty unexpected.

He was running for about 3 seconds before hand! That's more than enough time for a guy like Sylar to react, who was a cold-blooded killer already.
Also, is it just me or did it seem like filler when Nikki beaned Sylar? From what I can recall, the two had no beef whatsoever, and had no idea the other existed. Why would she just hit him like that? Their only intention to go New York was to rescue Micah...?

I think the writers painted themselves in to a bit of a corner with Sylar. I read somewhere on the 'net that their intention had been to more or less bring in a majority of new characters with each season - new stories, everything. I think their focus quickly changed to keeping the cast static more-or-less, which means the villian as well ... their intention at the beginning was probably to kill Sylar, but they figured they couldn't now. He is just an awesome villian.
Will be interested to see what happens from this finale. It wasn't bad ... but it wasn't GREAT like the previous few episodes had been.

I just can't wait to see next seasons villian. I assume they will be the one Molly was foreshadowing when she was talking about not wanting to find the guy who could see her when she used her power! Wonder who that could be ....... (Mrs. Petrelli ??? )
