I think he's a complimentary player that's having a career year, much like Huberdeau did before he came here. I'd rather we didn't take that risk.

Yes we are down a man on the PK but that coverage was horrible. Kadri and the Kids had a good period though.

He produces NOTHING.

But he seems like such a good guy, he looks like he's trying, he looks like he cares, it seems like he's putting the effort in but just isnt getting any results.

Its such a conundrum.

I'd love to hate him if he was a lazy bum, but all indications are to the contrary. He's trying. He's working. So I cant hate him. He's working.

Its very frustrating.

I honestly defend him for this reason.

It's not a James Neal case where he doesn't try, hes working hard most games and has committed to the system and the defensive effort.

Lots of players would have either just quit on the team by now, just happy to collect $10.5M, or would have stated to cheat offensively and give up on playing defensively to try to pad their stats.

He hasn't dont that though. He works hard, he actually tries to add a physical element to his game at times, and is trying to be more effective as a player so it's not just about points. He forgot / lost his confidence in making plays but it's not because he doesn't care/try.

He's never going to be worth $10.5M, but he's trying and I do think it's in the organizations best interest to figure out ways to try to get him going too. He needs to just get out of his own head though and try to have some fun playing hockey.

Honestly think it's what worked for Kadri. Got put on a line with some young guys and started to have some fun playing again. need Huberdeau to start having some fun again.
