Believe we have to try to rehab him. And that involves bringing in players that he’s had success with before. You watch the video and there is a player there. Need to get him back (or die trying)
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WrCcLe-gD68
Try to acquire one of (or more) of the following players (most of whom should be easily attainable)
Duclair
Hoffman
Vatrano
Wennberg
Dangle Dube and mangiapane to see if we can get these players. No picks or grade a prospects going out, just roster players.
No term with these players. So you bring them in, give it the rest of the season. It doesn’t work, then you address next steps in the off season (trade or buyout).

I think overspending on some UFAs on short term contracts is fine as the Flames will have a tonne of cap space and the team will be bottom 5 even if Huebrdeau someone turns around to a PPG player next year.
Wouldn't trade anything for them though.

the idea of giving up assets to bring in Huberdeaus former linemates i feel is not the way to go, nor is bringing in his former coaches, who are we Edmonton? you owe it to the entire team to help them be successful, not just 1 player, especially 1 player who looks lke he would fail in the AHL at this point.

Of course Quenneville is a better coach than Huska. Putting aside the reason he's not coaching, but from a pure results perspective, Quenneville is a better coach than most, he's one of the best in the world.
I'd say that would be a valid argument if we were talking about Huberdeau getting say, 80pts vs. 100pts. Right now we are talking about how you can sub out Walker Duehr for Huberdeau in the Flames line up and it would make 0 impact. That's not coaching.

What’s the point? The only way that makes sense is if you think the Flames are a playoff team with him playing 4th line minutes.

I wish that the NHL had performance conditions.
a 41 point player making 10.5 million in the first year our their contract is criminal.

Sadly this is becoming the Yankees and Arod.
At the time there was a suggestion in NY that fans needed to stop booing the guy because he played better when he wasn't stressed about the fans.
Huberdeau hasn't complained, but he's clearly lacking confidence, and I'm guessing social media turning on him (justifiably for his output / contract) likely isn't helping.

I wont accept blaming the fans as an excuse.
1. He ( his agent) very publicly complained.
2. The Fans gave him a yard of rope 100 games to get his footing.
3. The team fired a coach for him.
4. If he doesn't like it he can quit and retire a millionaire and live a private life doing whatever he wants out of the public eye.

I'd bet a lot of money that Hubby ignores social media.

It’s not like Dube and Mangiapane are difference makers.
At this point, what the hell do we have to lose? We get some players who he’s had success with and he turns it around in best case scenario. He doesn’t, at least we tried. Then we take next steps.
It’s maddening to see the talent in that clip. And he’s not that player here. So surround him with players that click with him and get him going again.

There is a faction who are more interested in punishing a guy for not producing than figuring out how to have him produce more.
Now, maybe the suggestion is that Greer is a good potential linemate. I don't necessarily discount that - Greer is a bit like a discount Bennett in some ways. But I suspect that's not the rationale.

Backlund and Coleman are not long term solution. They are lucky to score 20/year
Problem is the Flames have no goal scorer to take advantage of the only good skill Huberdeau has.
If anything, I blame Lindholm as well as he was supposed to be the one
Until they find a goal scorer or two, Huberdeau stays in the dog house

Yup, I get he sucks right now but there is really only upside in playing him more. He won't drag this team to a playoff spot even if gets going and if he continues to play poorly then he contributes to the tank. Win/win right now.

Pretty sure I didn't say it was the fans fault.
Just said it's an interesting case with a player lacking confidence and the same thing happened with the Yankees a number of years ago.

You can discount Greer. He is nowhere close to Bennett. He is already 27, been with 4 teams and have a career high of 5 goals
That would finish Huberdeau for good
