This idea that you can just perpetually roll in new goalies for cheap, like they are growing on trees, is just not realistic, IMO

Agreed. It's rare you luck out and get a Niemi or Ullmark or Logan Thompson to carry your teams majority of starts.
Just trying to figure out other outlier goalies who made impacts coming out of nowhere or struggling with other franchises. Ooooo, Martin in SJ.

Should the Flames try for Jordan Kyrou? Seems like his time in STL may be done .

He’s only 25 and the contract isn’t that rich - less than Lindholm wanted.

His stats this year indicate he is a on a bit of a downward slide and he signed for 7 more years. Sign me up for those handcuffs. The more long term contracts we get the better.

25 year old, 8.125m for 7 more years after this, that's open money IMO. That's the kind of money you do tie up into players at that age and production.
I just think he'd be a perfect fit for our Zary and Sharnagovich type players.
Subtract the 5.5 of mangiapanes cap hot this year and next and it's perfectly fine for a retool/rebuild.....IMO.

Yeah, so he makes the team a little better in the near term and takes up cap when they’ll need it for their next wave of players. Only way I’d do it is if gets rid of Kadri’s contract.

The Flames shouldn’t be tying up long term money in any player right now. I’d be all over it if they didn’t just start to bottom out

Huberdeau ($1.5M retained) and 2nd for Kyrou
Honestly that's the type of opportunity the Flames need. A guy who is also in the 1st year of an 8 year deal that's getting booed on home ice by the fans and a team that seems a bit desperate after firing their long time coach
