Hmm..interesting stuff.
Too bad Dunigan has to go. Not really his fault for being in over his head....I'd take the job of GM and coach if I felt I was remotely qualified, and it was offered to me, too.

I love how Petrie's story totally discredits all of Global News's (TV) story yesterday. Grant Pollock's take seemed to give more creedance to Bruce - whereas Petrie writes him off.

More and more, Global seems to be running with rumors and trying to convince everyone they're big stories/going to happen.
Remember in Feb or so when Pollock rushed into the studio, after a Flames game and reported/insisted Gauthier was all but gone to the Habs for (??? name escapes me). That one fizzled before lunch the next day.

Contrary to local reports Wednesday, Calgarian Bruce Urban, owner of Western R.V., is not a factor in the fate of the Stampeders.

Thank goodness.
That guy just looked way to much like he should own a CFL franchise, just not the Stamps, and in about 1994 or so, and say, I dunno, a team in Vegas, or perhaps Shreveport? ) Get lost dude. Some farmer from Rimbey needs a new fifth wheel.
Let's at least get some respectability back to MacMahon. I'm sure we're taking the right steps with big John at the helm.

I just hope when it's all done Jim Barker is the offensive coordinator and Mark McLaughlin gets the president job he was robbed of.

Club will be purchased by Doug Mitchell, Ted Hellard, John Forzani, and small group of oil investors.
Forzani is a front man with a small amount of coin put in. Mitchell is the big man with 3.5M in.
Hold up is possible severance of Rooke and Dunnigan...$880,000.00
God help us is barker is brought back!! Ran it like a country club.
Dont believe Petries articles. All one sided

Just read the articles. He has it in for the Stampeder (Feterik) football club. Have you read one positive article.
Rumor has it that he is inline for the position with the new group as media relations. Barker as Player personel, Higgins as coach and Schwartz as President
Be careful what you wish for!!

I see this as a positive move for the Stamps. As for Feterik he deserves all the negative articles and then some. As for Petrie once again that is a rumour nothing more.

What is positive about Barker coming back? He has been fired from two CFL clubs after one year. Higgins yeah good deal, but I would like to see Dunnigan finish what he started. Club finished on a positive note in the last 4 games.
As for Feterik he brought $$stability back to the club after Gutsches years. Mistakes did happen with Fateri and Barker but they were well on there way to a good season in 05 I think.

Are you serious? Barker is a great football guy. Sure he has had a few jobs but so has everyone else in football. As for Higgins and Swartz they are great as well.
As for Feterik he has brought nothing but grief to the Stamps. He chased Wally out of town, brought Fred into town etc. The only positive thing he has done was pay the bills.

Barker.....are you kidding me???? What a joke. Did you see any of last years training camp or lack there of? He is a slob to the tenth degree. Ask anyoine still with the club. Higgins I would agree. Schwartz is a manipulater. What has he done. Unless you know something I dont, all oyou have been doing is reading the sports pages and forming your opinion from there.
Wally had to go! Everyone knew that.

How could you know "He is a slob to the tenth degree. Ask anyone still with the club"? Who from the Stamps has told you this statement?
From what I have read about Barker or heard on Fan960 he sounds like a very experience Football guy.
As for Schwartz he was the president of the club for along time. Obviously some of the credit of past Stamps accomplishments have to goto this guy?

Have you seen him? As personel man late last year ..Who did he bring in? Corey Paus, Kevin Smith?? Oh yeah LP.
Knowing 5 players from last years team, all said he was a slob and could not believe what a joke training camp was! "He couldnt get his head out of his potato chip bag"
I have heard him on the Fan 960 too. Sounds intelligent but isnt! Talk the talk but can walk the walk.
Maybe I should not have made the statements about Schwartz. He was part of the success of the 90's, but who wouldnt be with Garcia, Dickenson, and Flutie as your QB.

Hmmm.....off the top of my head, I'd have to say..
The BC Lions, San Diego Chargers, and Cleveland Browns.
Some other ones may include the Buffalo Bills, San Fransisco 49ers.

Case in point. Wally seems to lose the big game.
NFL is a different game than the CFL. These guys have had success here while most have struggled. Peter Liske was great here but struggled in the NFL. Vince Feragammo was good in the NFL but struggled here.
My statement was and is With these guys and Pitts Vaughn. both Moores, Sapunjus Danielsen who couldnt to well!
Any comments on Barker???

Asumed the player personel position after Lanny Julias was let go.
Hope all goes well with the new group but I cannot see a group of 6 with big egoes agreeing on things.
What would you change for the year?
