I can't believe that is a written statement on an official government website. It is absolutely propaganda.

Andrew Leach
Two hours apart, the Premier of Alberta tweets praise for a new facility that would produce "methane-reducing cattle feed" and calls such financial incentives to adopt these practices in other provinces "a new low for eco-extremists."
Somebody, please, brief the Premier.

i am old enough to remember King Ralph using the idea that we could limit med school admissions to restrict health care costs... (more doctors mean more billing... so we should limit med school/ nursing school admissions)
Ralph.. he could have been a contender... but he listened to his donors..

when i was interested in the field of medicine (1988) there where only two med schools requiring an undergrad degree... calgary and Mcmaster.
when did the other med schools change?

Some Edmonton children’s chemo treatments delayed due to health-care capacity issues
https://globalnews.ca/news/10169029/...atments-delay/
and the next kick in the nuts is this lame apology, that you'd get if you had a long wait at the grocery store.
“All patients requiring chemotherapy treatment continue to receive it within appropriate timelines,” AHS said in a statement.
“A small number of pediatric patients in Edmonton were delayed in beginning their chemotherapy series due to capacity challenges.
“We apologize for any inconvenience caused to the patients and their families.”
what a crock. delaying the start of your Chemo is a bit more than a freaking "inconvenience" I would think.

Just hanging out, getting sued. I'm guessing it's just part of the process to repeal the stay on mining the slopes anyway.

“We apologize for any inconvenience.” Seriously?
That’s an apology for customers who show up at a store that had to close early, not when your kid might die.

“We understand these circumstances are extremely frustrating and that this goes far beyond anything that could be characterized as an inconvenience to you and your family, rest assured we’re doing everything in our power to improve the situation. “
Then maybe add this: Please contact your local MLA and let them know your preference would be for them to prioritize focusing on improving (real) healthcare rather than passing bills allowing themselves to receive bigger kickbacks from donors.

Yeah, they're not putting the proper communications and public relations effort into their messaging. But we shouldn't be surprised since the 'middle management' side of Alberta Healthcare is the real problem and shouldn't be funded any further (even though more managers are needed with new agencies being created). Save that money for the naturopaths.

That’s better, or (written by the politicians and if they’re being honest): “We’re sorry for longer-than-expected (yeah, right) wait times but we care more about building up that surplus than we care about the lives of you and your family. We all have to make sacrifices; thank you for yours.”

I'm sure the "protect our children" crowd will be all over this one, demanding the government fix this issue! Any time now...

Her supporters are probably happy that the medical system can't pump toxic chemicals into these poor kids anymore, so they can be treated at home with teas and hot stones.
